The 2013 Pax East convention seminar called The Future of D&D had a Q&A session. This is a short transcript from Wizards_DnD Twitter if people are interested;
@Wizards_DnD (Sean) Q&A on #dndnext is starting. #PAXEAST
@Wizards_DnD Q: "So... Psionics?" A: "Probably in the form of a play module."
@Wizards_DnD Q: "Multiclassing?" A: "Expected in the next packet. You'll take them by level."
@Wizards_DnD Q from a shadowdancer: "Will prestige classes return?" A: "We thought it was something we wanted to do. It may take a new form..."
@Wizards_DnD... prestige classes will likely be paths of other existing classes. #dndnext
@Wizards_DnD(Sean) Q: "In 4th, as a DM I have a problem with scaling in higher levels." A from Chris P.: It's something we're definitely aware of and currently testing. We want to keep a balance for player vs monster.
@Wizards_DnD Q: Minions and Solo monsters? A: They're in there, but not specifically in those roles, more in how lower & higher levels will interact.@Wizards_DnD (Sean) Thank you everyone at #PAXEAST who attended today's panel! See you for Sunday's "The Art of the Dungeon Master."

10 Barbarian/10 Fighter could be good Lots of incentive to MC atm.
Reducing a character to a list of dice rolls and modifiers is not role playing*

So, this would mean, by default, that they are nearing class completion?
It is so obvious, that 5th Ed is going swimmingly in many ways, if it weren't for that dastardly classes thing!

I'd actually hope for the exact opposite. I'd want classes to have as much time as possible to continue to be iterated on in a system that has its multiclassing rules in place. Part of the reason that multiclassing was so dubious in 3.5 was because the classes weren't designed taking its multiclassing system into account even a tiny tiny bit. (4e's launch multiclassing was lame because the system setup didn't allow for a obvious and elegant multiclassing solution.) I'd hope that multiclassing rules mean "okay, now it's time to start actually designing these classes for real", not "well, classes are basically done."
Dwarves invented beer so they could toast to their axes. Dwarves invented axes to kill people and take their beer.
Swanmay Syndrome: Despite the percentages given in the Monster Manual, in reality 100% of groups of swans contain a Swanmay, because otherwise the DM would not have put any swans in the game.

I want the majority of class concepts presented, then multiclass, and make final adjustments from that point. Guessing on what classes still remain, I definitely want to see the bard before multiclassing is available.
