A return to older models of fluff. God I missed the 2e fluff while playing 4e!
Amen to that. 2E had, to me, far and away the best fluff of D&D's long run.
Yep, and the golden days of campaign setings: Al-Qadim (my personal favourite, never got meddled with), Birthright, Dark Sun, Historical Reference, Planescape, Ravenloft, Spelljammer.
Oh how I long to see a mighty return of Dark Sun.... one of my absolute favorites. Halfling cannibals.... nuff said.

As a 2E player, I like the following about Next:
1. Combat mechanics 2. Basic check and skill check mechanics 3. Martial dice (but they need toned down to keep them from being boring) 4. Vancian spells 5. The advantage/disadvantage system 6. No THAC0
