I was the one who mentioned slicing fingers, which is what you wree replying to, so I thought all that vitriol was directed at me. I wasn't trying to make an argument for anything, just saying I think their current system is crap. No one buys something they think is garbage, that's why I won't buy their system unless they change it. Like I said in my previous post.

As one of the fans they've set aside, I can say that they aren't trying to market to us at all. It's honestly been a bit insulting how little they've appealed to, or even understood, our segment.
I agree, as one of the fans they've set aside, there still is a long way to go to improve over the last lot of stuff they have put out.

Sometimes that story is short and sometimes it is long. They can be tragic, comic or absurd. Some teach. Some are just to fill the empty spaces in our lives. It also needs to be quality, not some tacked on afterthought.

I voted no, although I might buy because of some friends and still would buy this over any other D&D edition. I am more interested in Dungeon World RPG. I think they moved too far away from my current style, that is, really simple open games(Mortal Coil, Primetime Aventures). After the first playtest the game just seems to get more complex. Combat maneuvers and spells are so beyond me right now, I can't stand to have a list limiting my character actions, it feels contrary to what a good RPG system should be. Even when this edition is finished and the classes are "finished" and "balanced" it won't be for me, I had hope it maybe would be a edition I would have liked, but there were some "sacred cows" and other things in the design process that keep the edition from being what I want, for example: - DM Fiat paradigm- To me DM Fiat is not an issue, so they are making a game where "solves" many "DM fiat" problems that I think that does not exists or exists only because you were trying to solve it. What I am still thinking if it is worth it is house rule this edition to death and see if I can come with something I really like.

Yes for certain definitions of "cleaned up" and No for others. Really, I have no idea what the results of this poll are intended to show? It's like a giant self-fulfilling Rohrschach Test.
I always see adventurers fighting monsters in those things...

I voted yes, but under the personal mental caveat that we would have info on upcoming releases for expansions, campaign settings, and adventures. If all of those go well, I would be good, system flaws be damned.
I prefer 2nd Edition AD&D. But I have played basic, 1E, 2E, 3.5, & 4E, and found all to be fun.
IF IT'S D&D, I'LL PLAY IT, NO MATTER THE EDITION.
Just roll some dice.

It's not pointless. He's going to use it as evidence that everything in the edition is just wrong; unfortunately, this poll suffers from the same problems as his other polls.
It may not be pointless, but it is useless.

Nothing wrong with a little frivolity; that's why we're here.

Actually, the usage of the term, "It's not pointless," was not an attempt to type the literal truth. I was using that literary thing where you state one thing but mean something entirely different...

With classes that intertwine fluff and mechanics, no point buy module, and even a cleaned up current Rogue, I wouldn't even give DDN a second glance.
