HP's are an abstraction of an abstraction.  They are the galaxies swirling, solar flares jumping, and rain falling onto an apple.  At least, that's how I understand them.  Laughing  (Just noticed it was almost a haiku.  Darn!)

No it does not.  It is simplicity itself to do DBZ with abstract hit points and damage reduction/energy resistance.
