Folks fighting with Rules Lawyers and trolls are both excercises in futility.
No matter which version has shown up in the random encounter generator it's best to just move along and ignore the pests.
No rules lawyering involved. The spell says it works one way, he's arguing it doens't.

Allies is listed in the spell. If it were intended to effect the caster that word would not have appeared in any portion of the spell.
It was listed in the FLAVOR of the spell.
The FLAVOR.
IT'S ONLY IN THE FLAVOR OF THE SPELL
IT IS NOT IN THE MECHANICS
NOT IN THE MECHANICS

Honestly.
I honestly don't understand this "debate".
At all.
It is classic RAW vs RAI with a twist because of the 4e Flavor text/effect seperation.
What is there to understand?
We have differing opinions. We express them. I get insulted. Repeat.

Let's just let this be and we can both call the hotline tomorrow to see how different the answers are that they give to each of us.

Can we just go back in time and execute whatever person came up with 'Flavor'? Every time I see someone talking about flavor I want to tell them it's Strawberries and Cream.
