Not sure I understand how feats will be tied with themes.

Do players choose a theme and when levelling gain only certain feats that the theme will let you take or will players have more liberties in feat choices?

Can someone please explain the disappointment (with occasional rage) about Backgrounds and Themes just being roll-ups?

So themes are just bundles of pre-selected feast/skills...but we can just pick and choose instead?

DS themes were good because they provided content exclusive to that theme. If you can just pick and choose, it now longer has any real value except as a guide for noobs.

Who knows, maybe this is just another badly worded one like last week's "Action, and then move".

Actually it sounds like a "best of all worlds" thing to me.

I'm expecting feats are going to be a bit more... thematic this time around. None of that generic "skill focus" or "power attack" crap that we've seen in the last two editions. Maybe some cross between feats in the "Heroes of..." books and Theme features as they work currently?

well they did say there would be 3 systems to generate your character.

1) chose your class and use the default thems that are listed for that class.
2) chose your class and chose yout themses yourselve.
3) they said this would be an option that gave even more customization.

I would guesss method 3 is select your feats yourselve.
so you would probebly chose character generation method 3.
while a player with less experiance might chose method 1 or 2 and would still end up with a viable character.
