Sure it is.
The only metric for success is how many years a game runs.
Even if it runs itself straight into bankruptcy.

Yes, I am expressing my opinions (even complaints - le gasp!) about the current iteration of the play-test that we actually have in front of us.

No, I'm not going to wait for you to tell me when it's okay to start expressing my concerns (unless you are WotC).

(And no, my comments on this forum are not of the same tone or quality as my actual survey feedback.)

Does this mean I can gleefully call Firefly a failure?  It didn't even last a season.

Another day, another three or four entries to my Ignore List.

Huh, yes. Yes it does.

This was a product that was supposed to be profitable for 8-10 years. After 2 and half they are already making another. It is not a sign of success. Especially with the awknowledgement that the community is divided.

This doesn't mean 4e wasn't good at what it did. It just means it didn't meet the expectations of enough people.

But I would be curious to know how killing 4e and making 5e is a sign of succes. Got actual arguements?

Was it pulled because of low ratings? Cause that is what is important for the bottom line. Ratings. Like sells are important for an edition.

This is not a reflection on the quality of the product itself. Those are two separate things.
