Dark Sun - in the spirit and style of the 4e books (never played 2e version)
Greyhawk - never played in there myself, curious, heard VERY good things about Living Greyhawk
Forgotten Realms - but the 4e-to-5e story must NOT be a world-rending cataclysm
a conversion guide for Gamma World - My First RPG edit: on second thought, a Campaign Builder's Guide. Modelled on the 2e World-Builder's Guide, but not so tied to the map-making. Of course, if well-designed, I can work through the CBG and get Gamma World!
new-made 3 Musketeers / Pirates of the Caribbean era
Best complements I have yet received: Spoiler:Show
Making it up as I go along: {BRJN} If I was writing the Tome of Lore, I would let Auppenser sleep. But I also would have him dream. In his dreaming he re-activates the innate powers of (some) mortal minds. Or his dreaming changes the nature of reality - currently very malleable thanks to Spellplague &c. Or whatever really cool flavor text and pseudo-science explanation people react positively to. {Lord_Karsus} You know, I like that better than the explanations for the Spellplague.
Prepped ahead of time: I started the thread "1001 Failed Interrogation Results" {ADHadh} These are all good and make sense! I just can't come up with something that's not covered here and is not completely ridiculous.
Active Characters: LFR Half-elf StarLock6 Gondolin Nightstar AoA Dwarf Guardian Druid6 Narvik from House Wavir
Character A-building: Neverwinter Dwarven Invoker / Heir of Delzoun / worships Silvanus (!) "Truenamer" - speaks Words of Creation
Concepts I'm kicking around: "Buggy" Wizard - insect flavor on everything Halfling Tempest Fighter - just because nobody else is doing it Shifter Beast-o-phile Druid - for PoL campaign
In order: 1) Dark Sun - It's the bozz of the bozzes as far as I'm concerned 2) Planescape - 3) Spell Jammer 4) Eberron (mainly for Daelkyr related stuff (symbionts)) 5) Variant setting book
I'm both orderly and selfish. I act mostly for my own benefit, but I respect and help my community - Specially when it helps me. At best, I'm loyal and dedicated; at worst, I'm elitist and shrewd.
I think more would be had from a weighted tally. FR was on my list, but at the bottom.
This is a type of poll that there's no one way to run it that everyone will agree "This is the best way to run it". It's just not possible. There are multiple ways to do it, each yielding a different type of feedback. I can't weight the poll now as I didn't mention weighting in the OP and many have voted without weighting in mind (myself included).
Perhaps someone could run another campaign setting poll and mention at the OP that it's weighted, giving us two completely different types of polls on the same thing yielding different types of feedback.
Do you have an opinion on what campaign settings should be printed in D&D Next? If so, please cast your votes in this poll!
What campaign settings would you most like to see printed in D & D Next? Edit: I will only count five campaign settings; if you list more I will PM you and ask if you can reduce your list to five.
Thank you in advance for any votes, responses or feedback. Let's get our vote on!
Edit: I am listing first the results of the polls. Below the results is a non-comprehensive listing of settings. You are not limited to this list, and can vote for what you want to.
Fall from Heaven (1): Diavolorosso 3 Musketeers / Pirates of the Caribbean era (1): BRJN
Edit 2: Below, I have listed all settings I can find and I have added everything that others have voted on. Any constructive criticism regarding this list is welcomed via post or PM. Remember, this is simply a non-comprehensive list for ideas and you are not in any way limited to this list. I will count anything you vote for and add it to this list.
