Do we cover up the David, the mannequin pis, the Venus de milo, And declare them no longer art but pornography? Should we take them out of school books and stop teaching art, music, and literature, because the classics did not find breasts offensive?

Warhammer fantasy- lots of breasts
Warhammer 40k- slanesh demons- lots of breasts
Age of Conan MMO- a whole heck of a lot of breasts.
Society has NOT found breasts to be distasteful, looking at the above breasts increase sales of games and gaming books that are offered at all gaming stores to all ages. Parents buy their kids 40k books and minatures, the breasts and gory violence in those books do not lower sales.
There is no reason why breasts cannot be part of the art of D&D other than the fact WotC is a sub of Hasbro and Hasbro wants the game kid friendly which I find strange because I see kids as the smallest minority of D&D sales.

Our culture seems to have a bizarre taboo against showing completely natural things like female breasts, while for some reason, it is much more acceptable to graphically depict acts of brutal violence and murder. Why must something be branded "mature" if it shows a topless woman, while something can be marketed towards youth, even if it is full of carnage and slaughter?
I don't think Dungeons & Dragons needs to conform to such silly, poorly thought out rules. I'm not saying the artists should go out of their way to include nudity or anything, but nudity certainly should be exhibited in situations where it makes sense. Why does the succubus in the Monster Manual keep herself covered? We don't know.
Given the rise of mouthbreathers and antisocial grognard herp derps on these forums, it appears Monte and Mearls attempts to recreate the 80's feel of D&D might succeed afterall...

Many people would probably rejoice about this, yeah.
I am still not behind the idea, I like my nudity. If you want to change society that way, go into politics and education. Don't be confrontational as hell about it, you won't change anything with it.
I like my nudity, my Venus and David. While I am not an art fan, I can see the appeal in them, and like both as historic objects.
If I were in charge, I would also ease the rules about nudity. People need to be educated, not confronted, though. Just suddenly showing boobs on TV won't get you anywhere but the boulevard press headlines.
I recently read a good comment on this, paraphrasing: "In our culture it's okay to show murder, violence and torture in out media, one of the most inhuman things you can do, taking a life without thinking or caring. On the other hand we forbid the most glorious of human acts, procreation, nudity and the beauty of form. We ban it behind walls of law and forbid our children to see what is only natural."
And with that I fully agree. Thing is... this is going to be a publication for the markets of the world. For most of those you need to stay clear of nudity. Fact.
Sad fact, but fact nontheless.
People are idiots like this

I can't see Hasbro going for this in a game that will be marketed in part to children... besides all of you seem to already have access to the internet...

True, but that does not always lead to desired results!
Everyone knows where to get plenty of nekkid stuff, but there is not so much in tasteful or artistic stuff found as easy! Sadly! :D

As a parent of 10-13 year-old daughters, I know first-hand the difficulty of convincing my daughter's friends to play a game of D&D. That attempt will be multiplied ten-fold if the game in question contains pics of naked breasts in it.
"Hi, Jennifer! Do you want to come over? My 40 year-old father game me this great game using this book with pictures of naked animal-women in it. Wanna play? .... Why is your mother calling child protection services?"

While I completely agree with your sentiment of the taboo disparity between sexuality and violence insisting one's opinion on the matter is not a productive thing.
Doing this will not bring the positive spin to D&D WotC is trying to build.
At most I would suggest a compromise of the old favorite chain mail bikini's from here and there, hey it is D&D history after all, and suggestive though not blatant nudity from some creatures and villains again from time to time. Suggestive nudity can bring a lot to the imagination and then leave it up to the players imaginations what happens or what they are seeing.
Besides if they intend to continue reprinting older books we will infact get our nudity back in the form of the resurge of older art work.

I get the feeling that if instead of succubus boobies it was an orc hangin dong everyone would be vehemently against it.
Leave the nudity out. Kids want to play the game. My fiance wants to play the game. Jump on Google if ye need to see boobs.
Wizards of the Coast can suck it.
