Up to this point, DnD seemed to be pretty set on their DnD Essentials reflavoring of 4e. I can't help but feel the decision to ditch 4e and rebrand the game as DnD Next was dWhich should tell us that this is not what happened. There of course were people begging for more, but there were not enough of them.
