Why don’t you start off by telling us a little bit about you and your history with D&D, what you're playing now, and anything else you want people to know about you?
My name is "Jester" David Gibson. I've been playing D&D since 1993 although I'd been exposed to the game far earlier via the '80s cartoon and the Dungeon! board game. I do a D&D-based webcomic at 5mwd.com and write a blog here at the WotC Community site. I'm currently running a Pathfinder game set in Ravenloft that I occasionally preempt for playtesting, having recently updated the original Castle Ravenloft module...
You've got questions—we've got answers! Here's how it works—each week, our Community Manager will be scouring all available sources to find whatever D&D Next questions you're asking.
There are certain business and legal questions we can't answer (for business and legal reasons). And if you have a specific rules question, we'd rather point you to Customer Service, where representatives are ready and waiting to help guide you through the rules of the game. That said, our goal is provide you with as much information we can—in this and other venues....

I started playing D&D when I was 9. My best friend's older brother played AD&D and one night he ran me and my friend through a quick dungeon crawl. I tried to play a wizard and I'm sure I failed miserably. I was hooked. As I grew older I transitioned from one edition to the next and played around with other systems including Gurps, TMNT, Rifts, and a slew of White Wolf games. I always come back to D&D though.
As for...

I have been involved in Dungeons & Dragons since my older brother (Brian R. James) first introduced it to me in 1987. I was too young to play it then, but I do have vivid memories of sword & sorcery and the tales that came about from his gaming group. When I got a bit older, I was finally able to join my brothers group (much to their chagrin) when someone could not attend. Since those early days, I have been involved...

My name is Yan, 33, I am French-Canadian living in Montréal, Québec with my wife and 2 daughters. I started playing D&D in the late 80s with the famous red box, like many other kids out there no doubt. Since then I played every iteration of the game and it has been one of my passions ever since. There isn't a day I don't read or write D&D, or visit its community. I currently run an AD&D 2nd edition...
