Hey everyone,

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce the members of the team that are working on this game. I'll have them chime in on this thread so you can identify who those folks are.

The early design of the game was done by Hordelings webmaster Kevin Tatroe. Since then, the game has evolved a bit. I handled early development of the game, and have continued to work with the entire team on it.

Peter Lee (Castle Ravenloft, Wrath of Ashardalon, Conquest of Nerath) and Chris Dupuis (Heroscape, Battleship Galaxies, Risk: Legacy) are the two other designers working on the project. Joining the three of us is veteran D&D editor Jennifer Clarke Wilkes, who may also chime in from time to time.

So, if you see posts by these folks, you now know who they are and what their role is in the game.

Hey everyone. We're really excited about this beta test. Thanks for checking it out.

As a huge fan and competitive player of the previous D&D Minis game, I was already very excited to hear more about this new game. Now that I've read through the rules and have an idea of how it'll work I'm really looking forward to playing the game and getting addicted all over again. But to find out that both Kevin and Peter are designing the game, it's almost too much. I am now fully confident that it will be an amazing game with great mechanics. No offense to Rodney, Chris, and Jennifer but I've already had a lot of experience and interaction with Peter and Kevin and know just how dedicated and talented they are.

Expect a lot of feedback and questions from me as I'm sure I will get sucked in just as much as I did with the other games. Can't wait to force my wife to playtest it with me tonight and I'm really looking forward being able to buy the final product. By the way, any rough ideas on a release date yet or is that confidential?

Hello,
I am a big fan of D&D Miniatures and look forward to playtest the new D&D Skirmish game !

I have printed the PDF and will do some playtests this weekend with some friends.

Talk to you later.

Nice job, Peter (and the gang).  Just gave a quick read to the playtest rules and I'm excited.  I'll try to carve out some time to actually play this weekend... but it looks like a fun game on paper.

It looks like this game is in good hands! I've downloaded the rules and will be reading through them. I've scheduled a Playtest session with another DDM player on Sunday. I'll post a play test report after.

I've enjoyed your work, Rodney and get a real kick out of your Twitter posts   Thanks so much for setting this Beta test up!  I've posted on Hordelings for quite a while now.  It's a great website and Kevin does wonders with it.  This game is a great idea, Kevin.  It's cool to know that you designed it.  You've got a great team of folks working with you too.  I'm a huge fan of the D&D board games Wrath of Ashardalon and Castle Ravenloft (looking forward to the Legend of Drizzt game too).  I also love Heroscape and play it almost as much as I do DDM.  So this is awesome that Peter and Chris are involved too.  I've probably seen and enjoyed a lot of Jennifer's work without even knowing it since editors tend to get less credit among the fans than they deserve

This is like the "A-Team" of D&D game design working on this new game, so I'm excited to see how the game develops.  The open Beta version you have graciously allowed us players and fans to test looks good.  I'll be sending game session reports with the info asked for in the sticky thread soon.  First I'll play it at home with my wife and our exchange student from Germany.  Both of them enjoy board games and strategy games but are not very familiar with D&D so this should be the "acid test" if ever there was one!  Then, I'll run it at an upcomming  VegasGamers.org Vegas Game Day at Las Vegas Library and at Action Comics and Sports in Henderson, NV.  I should be able to record a wide variety of opinions that way.

Thanks again,

John

To really have the A-Team you'd need Rob Heinsoo, but everyone knows he's busy working on 5E right now anyway. Tongue out

You know that Heinsoo doesn't work at Wizards anymore right?

I hadn't heard that officially, I had heard speculation to that effect.
