I just cut out all of the cards, and I find it odd that the drow team doesn't get a "Level up" or an "Action Point" There are two for the Hero team. Should one of each go to the Drow team, or are the cards laid out as intended?
My math figures that moving those two cards over to the other team gives each team an equal number of action cards.

I was also wondering about this. There are 26 drow action cards and the heroes have 30.

On second thought, perhaps both teams should have two of each. Perhaps they were going to be printed in the empty slots, and someone was going to copy and paste them later but forgot? I don't know. They just seem pretty essential to the D&D theme that both sides should have at least one, but I don't know if they should have two. I'm not sure how they work in play yet either. Will hopefully try it after dinner with the duplicate cards moved to the Drow team. I'm also interested in hearing from others how it differs if you just play the decks as-is.

Also, when a character is defeated with a level up card, do they lose gold equal to the card value or the value + level up cards? In addition, other than grant access to better power cards, is there any benefit to giving my Gold Dragon a level up card since no power = higher than 6?

It's possible some cards got shifted around in layout, but if so, it would NOT be the Action Point or Level Up cards. Those are only in the hero deck, as intended.

Thank you for the clarification. Will play it as-is and see how it goes.

You do pay the higher gold cost. The reason you'd level up the gold dragon would be for the extra hit points only.

So if only the Heros level up, is the idea that the person playing the Drow gets to kinda be like the DM in the RPG? Usually the DM controlled creatures don't level up, players just meet tougher monsters later on after the heros level up.

Card value.
see page 4 "'gold equal to the defeated creature's base level (that is, the level listed on the creature's card)"

Rodney said you do pay the higher cost with the additional level so a leveled up gold dragon would cost 7 gold if he died.
