    Last Post By: MintMMs

Having rekindled my interest in this since seeing the photos from PAX East on BGG, I noticed that there are some changes to the game (Loyalty and Morale for instance). I'm wondering if someone can let us know the changes so we can playtest with newe... more

Well, the game was nice for 2 players, but I don't know how would I play the game with 4 people. With 4 people it starts to resemble more a board game and less Magic and Chess.

From my playtest, here are the outstanding questions that were asked at the table for which we couldn't clearly resolve from the Rules as Written:

    1) Layout of tiles:

    a) Is there any intention for how the tiles should be laid out? If not, that should be made clear (eg: "players may use any technique for laying out the tiles, in any patters so long as the open edges touch").
    b) Are all the tiles to be used, and is so how does that work for 4 player games (ie: do you double the number of tiles)
    c) The requirement that the start areas be at opposite sides of the board doesn't provide enough detail for how to lay out starting areas when the boards is asymmetrical.

    2) Sneak Attack: The wording about adjacent creatures Assisting is unclear. All powers allow assist, so is this meant to explain that tapped creatures can assist too? If so, perhaps change the wording like "To use Sneak Attack, the activated creature can add the level of all adjacent tapped allies, as if they had tapped to assist" or something to that effect.

    3) Action Point:"Discard this card at any time". Does this mean that the Discard can occur in a manner that would play into the Reverse Order resolution of Immediate actions? If so, this should be made explicit. ie: "Discard this card Immediately at any time".

Just a comment, I'm sure you've seen this before but the 5x damage scale is very counter-intuitive and was the most frequent reason for pauses in play.

Beyond that, my fellow Beta-tester and I had a great time playing this game. Thanks for offering the Beta. We are very frequent purchasers of prepainted minis, this games looks like a fun bonus.

Played the Skirmish game last night. I really liked it - particularly the drawing cards for a selection of actions. This gives a nice sense of not knowing what your opponent can pull off in their turn. We felt the victory point system needs to be clearer for multi player games. Would a faction who does all the killing be penalised unfairly whilst other factions hold back? Also with the initial 3 chosen creatures, if they have a immmediate deploy action (e.g. Drow Priestess), does that occur immediately?

Excellent effort, i took a fast overall view of the game and seems great! Hope it to hit the shelves in 2012-2013, DDM was a great game!
