That's what it says at the top of this group.
Admittedly, it hasn't been a terribly active group the last year or two. But, that direction has changed dramatically.
What does everyone think?

I'm not a fan of Essentials. I find that the builds are too cookie-cutter and if you had, say, two Vampires in your party then you'd basically have two characters that only vary based on race and the intangibles that a player brings to the character. The original 4E versions of classes led to significant changes between how they could be played since every level you had different powers that were all viable. Essentials dumbs it down and that irks me.

Which truely this is very similar to old school D&D. Classes were essentially the same. That is one thing 4e changed drastically. And that was to have a different and dynamic character even if there were multiple fighter, or rogues, or what ever class.
