Hello- I am Matt Ferrantino, aka 'Darth Parallax'. I am a Vorthos and Melvin- I love the design articles, and am currently working on a block I plan to submit. Even if I don't get picked for GDS2, I can't wait to see all the stuff on these forums and discussions to give me ideas on how Magic cards are supposed to be made. Occasionally I drift into different psychographics if I think doing so would also be 'Vorthos-y'. For example, a Tezzeret or Phyrexian artifact deck would be very Spike: made streamlined and effective, like a tournament deck. Use whatever cards work the best, probably a combo build with control to make winning inevitable. A Chandra deck, however, would have tons of singletons, more fire-cards than lightning cards, and burn things in as many ways as possible, even if the card is technically weaker than some other options. Chandra likes doing what she thinks is cool, and wouldn't let anyone tell her what cards are better or worse. I only like combo decks for artifacts, and I think almost all artifact decks shoud be combo (sad that Esper wasn't strong enough to be the best deck of Alara).
