I was thinking that D&D dose not need to be change or revised on a rules level. Reason being that the rules are already simple enough for new players to pick up or for teaching new players. Instead now I think the best thing would be to clean up the "mess" of classes or instead the roles of the classes fit into. Don't get me wrong I like the fact that the Bard was given more then just being a little bit of every, but a leader with arcane power. Given all the classes and the four roles (Controller,Defender,Leader, and Striker) the classes start to double up and do we really need chacaters that essentialy do the same thing overall. This is not to say don't like and enjoy the new classes like the Avenger and Warlock but in a typical party with a "Meatshield" Fighter(Defender), healer Cleric(Leader), sneaky Rogue(Striker), and magical Wizard(Controller) ,and two "new" players join and one plays an Avenger and the other a Monk. Now you have a party with three Strikers in which is nice if they didn't have much of the same duties such as flanking and doing massive damage on an enemy which could get annoying for the other players coming up with a plan to use this that requires them. A way I would change I would add the roles from what monsters had such as Artillery, Lurker, and Skirmisher which now instead of four roles there are seven and this gives classes more of range of area to work. These options to me belong in the hands of the player to decide how he or she can decide how they want to play their character similar to to class builds currently in 4e. The only thing else that I would change is to more themes of that thing called roleplaying you know the that D&D is famous for which I feel that 4e lack alot of ,and this orginaly turned me to D&D which I have reflect this idea to my group because when you roleplay aleast for me it makes the game more enjoyable for all the players around the table. To do this I think Skills Challages would have to go only because I think that it limits what a player can do and in a game where your only limit is imagination thats pretty bad. So you are still reading this blog and have not bin bored to tears those where my ideas on D&D 5e. So Enjoy and keep on game'in.
