Last night I had my second character introduction "1-man" adventure. It went as well as the first one which shows promise.
In most of the games I've played/ran, either the characters knew each other prior or just joined up in some tavern once the game started going, and I am sick of that. So I came up with these intros.
In my world, something cataclysmic is about to happen. The trigger event affects all the characters that stretch across the world. Each one has a calling of some sort to a specific point that will bring them together, or at least I hope it does.
The intros don't have any combat, I didn't want to chance death, but there are skill challenges. Last night's was interesting because there was an earthquake (in game) that was causing panic, building collapses, and fires throught the player's village and he had to decide what he was going to do. I made it so he had several options to choose from, and all he had to do is pass 3 checks, which he did.
Tonight is another intro and I am hoping that it goes well to.
