Where are untyped bonus defined. I always played they stacked by not from the same source per DMG. But reading arance strike people are saying all untyped stack. I see on other post like what I say same source.

Any one know where it is defined?

In most cases, modifiers to a given check or roll stack (combine for a cumulative effect) if they come from different sources and have different types (or no type at all), but do not stack if they have the same type or come from the same source (such as the same spell cast twice in succession). If the modifiers to a particular roll do not stack, only the best bonus and worst penalty applies. Dodge bonuses and circumstance bonuses however, do stack with one another unless otherwise specified.

As for Arcane Strike, it's you who's misreading what people are saying. Arcane Strike provides two things when you sacrifice a spell: an untyped bonus on attack rolls, and a few extra d4s of damage. The first of these is a bonus. The second isn't. If you sacrifice a spell slot of every level from 1 through 9, you will get a +9 bonus on attack rolls (as the untyped bonuses are from the same source; only the biggest from that source applies) but your attacks will deal +45d4 extra damage (as the damage dice aren't a bonus - carefully read the feat).

Cancer prognosis: I am now cancer-free.

Seishi: I think it might be fun to have a one-off [game] tuned fairly, but with the intention of wiping the party.

DisposableHero_: if [my campaign] has taught me nothing else, it is that with this group, nothing tuned fairly will ever wipe the party

RadicalTaoist: I've been throwing **** at this group that's 5 levels over CRed in DFN, and have yet to wipe the party.

Ok well where then is extra damage defined?

Basic reading comprehension?

Seriously. Read the first clause in the rule I quoted. Now look at, say, Inspire Courage as an example of typed damage, or Sneak Attack as an example of untyped. (Sneak Attack is sometimes called "precison" damage, but this is a property of how its delivered, not how it stacks. You can also have untyped flat damage instead of dice - Smite comes to mind.) Arcane Strike uses wording like Sneak Attack, substituting "extra" in place of the synonymous "additional".

Cancer prognosis: I am now cancer-free.

No, I want to have know doubt one way or the other? I'm just looking for RAW answer that supports one way or the other.
I never seen anything that supports that extra or addition damage or wouldn't follow the same has bonus. So far has I can tell their is a assumption in place here. No, real answer? Some what remember saying something that says extra damage like sneak attack from multiple different sources does stack, but that would still leave me to believe that from the same source wouldn't? Because sneak attack from the same attack replaces with higher damage. I just really asking for a very raw answer. Please stop insulting me Tempest_stormwind.

The detail in which the rules describe everything has to stop somewhere, and "extra damage" seems to be one of those stopping points; it's simply "extra" damage because it's in addition to the damage you already had.

Arcane Strike provides both a bonus to attack rolls and some extra damage, and since the two are described separately, we can tell that the extra damage isn't a bonus, and thus doesn't follow bonus stacking rules.

I'd probably houserule against stacking the damage from multiple uses of Arcane Strike, since it's kind of cheesy (though an average of 2.5 damage per spell level isn't a great deal), but I don't know of anything official that prevents it.

My most popular campaign item; for all your adventuring convenience.
Zauber's Mutable Rod: This rod has a number of useful functions that make it easier to live in the wilderness. It is made of polished wood, with five studlike buttons on one end. Each button produces a different effect when pressed. Unless otherwise noted, the rod’s functions have no limit on the number of times they can be employed. When button 1 is pressed, one end of the rod produces a small flame, equivalent to a candle. When button 2 is pressed, the rod unfolds into a two-person tent, complete with bedrolls and warm blankets. When button 3 is pressed, the rod becomes a one-handed hammer, suitable for pounding pitons into a wall. When button 4 is pressed, the rod becomes a sturdy iron spade. When button 5 is pressed, the rod becomes a wooden bucket able to hold 2 gallons of liquid. Once per day, it can be commanded to fill with fresh water. If the rod is seriously damaged or broken in any of its alternate forms (button 2, 3, 4, or 5), it reverts to its basic rod form and cannot be activated for 24 hours. Moderate conjuration; CL 9th; Craft Rod, minor creation; Price 375 gp; Weight 2 lb.

I don't know that he is insulting you, or that that is the intent.

You are asking for more proof on something that is factually true. Its true because thats what the definitions of those words mean. He can't get more clear than that, or find other supporting evidence because thats simply all there is. He tried to give some examples of similar reasoning to help out, but there isn't a lot more to it.

"In a way, you are worse than Krusk"                               " As usual, Krusk comments with assuredness, but lacks the clarity and awareness of what he's talking about"

"Can't say enough how much I agree with Krusk"        "Wow, thank you very much"

"Your advice is the worst"                                                  "I'd recommend no one listed to Krusk's opinions about what games to play"

If Tempest's post are "insulting" I would hate to see what someone things of posters we sometimes abbreviate EA or CJ.

Sometimes you just need to realize that things aren't always completely, and irrefutably, spelled out in the rules one way or another.  There may be rules for holding your breath but are there actually rules on breathing?  There certainly are a few gray areas where things can be read different ways and in those cases the only opinion that really matters is that of the DM.
