If I play a copy of a legendary creature (example: [C]Stolen Identity[/C]) and both the copy and my original creature are on the battlefield do they both leave the battlefield?
Yes. A token is a permanent, so it's subject to the legend rule.
currently, yes

after the M14 changes come into force, no, only one will

Yes. The token copy will copy the Legendary supertype and the Name along with all the characterics of the copied creature, so both are legends with the same name on the battlefield and go to the graveyard.

Legendary rule cares about permanents with the same name, not non-token permanents.
