This thread is for discussion of this week's Sealed Deck Builder, which goes live Thursday morning on magicthegathering.com.

DGR Sealed is silly business.  This is the four-color brew I cooled up:

Total Deck Size: 40
17 Lands
---------------
5 Forest
4 Mountain
2 Plains
2 Swamp
1 Gruul Guildgate
1 Orzhov Guildgate
2 Selesnya Guildgate

16 Creatures
---------------
1 Adaptive Snapjaw
1 Armored Wolf-Rider
1 Battering Krasis
1 Centaur Healer
1 Crocanura
1 Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch
1 Gatecreeper Vine
1 Korozda Gorgon
1 Kraul Warrior
1 Maze Sentinel
1 Saruli Gatekeepers
1 Tajic, Blade of the Legion
1 Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts
1 Thrashing Mossdog
1 Varolz, the Scar-Striped
1 Zhur-Taa Druid

7 Other Spells
---------------
1 Arrest
1 Orzhov Cluestone
1 Rakdos Cluestone
1 Savage Surge
1 Verdant Haven
2 Warleader's Helix

This appears to be a Simic / Selesnya Pre-Release pool, based on the card distribution.  Even though it is, I found the blue cards quite disappointing and chose to play every color but.  With perhaps recklessness beyond reason, I shoved all four Guild Champions into a deck and tried to make it work as much as I could.  Maze Sentinel seems the strongest of our six mana multicolor lords.  Giving Tajic, Varolz, or the uncommon gorgon vigilance is big game, moreso than trample or haste.  Having played with Varolz in one draft, I love what he does to a board.  It was with him in mind that I played the Snapjaw over the Summoner.

Playing all these powerful cards requires some support.  22(!) of my cards provide mana in some way shape or form.   Not counting Verdant Haven, Gatecreeper Vine or Ping-Druid, I came out with these totals for color sources:
Green -  8
Red - 6
White - 6
Black - 5

Green is our most important as it drops the earliest, and has two early cards that give us whatever other color we need at that moment.  Vine can find two colors at once sometimes, and Haven is good for all the colors, all the time (and cushioning our life - a subtheme with the Gatekeepers and Healer).  Green also provides the creatures that will be the backbone of our early defense, such as Kraul Warrior, Crocanura, Saruli Gatekeepers and Thrashing Mossdog.  While eight is semi-shaky for a land count for our most important color, it's all lands, not cluestones, and the only double green we need is on Mossdog's scavenge.

When going crazy four-color, I like to ensure I'm playing the best removal possible.  With limited card draw, I minimize the amount of perfectly good removal that isn't amazing.  To that end, I'm playing what I consider my best combat trick (Savage Surge), my best sorcery speed removal spell (Arrest) and two copies of my best instant speed removal spell (Warleader's Helix).   Fatal Fumes, Punish the Enemy, Common Bond and Morgue Burst(?) all are fine removal options, but they're less than the best, and that's why I chose to cut them.

Important sideboard note is that other than our two medium-sized reach creatures, we don't interact with flyers well.  Aerial Predation needs to be at the top of our sideboard.

It's possible to flood out with this deck and wonder what happened, but I could also see going deep into the Prerelease Tournament.  It'd be a fun deck either way.

Naya Midrange with Populate Theme. This Deck has very good cards on its own and has an ideal long game strategy by creating tokens with Trostani. It also has four fine removal spells which take out problem threads from our opponents or we could even do up to 11 direct damage to a player. I would be very happy to play this on a GP.

G/W/U for the sake of evolving. Lack of answers means just go with lots of bombs. Cluestones are suprisingly versatile, providing ramp/manafixing, cycles and even acts as filler for sideboard options.

This pool seems amazing for a bant list. Deck has fast options with the Mastif and the Centaur healer, and a later beater with the wolf-rider. Bombs like Trostani and her summoner seems really good. And with 4 on color guild gates plus the gate creeper you'll almost always gain 7 life from the green 2/4.

Even a few sideboard options, I would play the +4/+4 sorc if I was up against a slower opponent. I would also sub in rootbound instead of druid's in most cases.
According to everyone on these forums. You should only play the best decks in whatever format you want. You are a bad player and should just quit if you intend on using anything else.

I've seen angels fall from blinding heights. But you yourself are nothing so divine. Just next in line.

All I'm saying is, I don't really see how she goes around petrifying swords and boots and especially mirrors. How the heck does she beat a Panoptic Mirror? It makes no sense for artifacts either. Or enchantments, for that matter. "Well, you see, Jimmy cast this spell to flood the mountain, but then the gorgon just looked at the water really hard and it went away."

Really interesting pool.  Considered going 3 colors, but I think there's enough fixing and power to justify 4 colors

I thought of going B/G/W but then I didn't think there was enough cards to produce tokens to take advantage of much of the populate that G/W has.  B/G green I stuck with because I felt Varolz, the Scar-Striped and Korozda Gorgon were just strong cards and I went with red for the 3rd color because of the Zhur-Taa Druid and the direct damage done by cards like Showstopper and Punish the Enemy, but in hindsight I'm thinking maybe I should have looked closer at going with Blue for the third color.  Anyway, as usual, input would be appreciated.

Boros splash blue was what I first looked at but couldn't resist going back to selesnya.

I tend to find myself to be a greedy player so I play greedy decks. I personally thought red was lacking by itself but has some gems like Warleader's Helix. I found myself going for a slight enchantment subtype theme, with more enchantments being put in CSA portion. I find that going in mostly into white-green and splashing into red and black gives me the deck I feel most comfortable with. If put to the test, I find that I may splash less or more or switch steeple roc with the other hard hitters on the ground at 5drops.

I went Naya but  threw in two black sources for Teysa. I didn't want to throw in the Golgari or Rakdos champion because I wanted to try to make casting the other spells easier (especially Trostani). Not really fond of the Knightly Valor, but I think it would work great with both Trostani and Tajic. 4/4 Vigilance Indestructible seems good and some tokens to populate are nice!

I picked the best cards and it ended up being 4 colors.  I think that the 5 guild gates and the Gatecreeper vine can help support this.  Arrest, Punish the Enemy and Warleader's Helix are all good removal with some very nice creatures including some flyers to go over the top.
Idea 1 is more greedy, but there is enough mana fixing to allow it to be obscenely powerful with a bit of luck.  Idea 2 is slightly less powerful but not my much, in trade we get a bit more consistency.

It's difficult to pass 2 Helix, Arrest and Punish the Enemy in a removal-light environment. Tajic could be a huge win with maze behemoth and knight valor. Trostani and her summoner give you a great late game.

My first online sealed deck.
It's 5-colors, after adding blue.
It plays most bombs in the pack, really focussing on ramping and the endgame.
It only plays 16* land, but a lot of early-game ramping and mana-fixing, playing all 7 guildgates, and 3 cluestones.

Please tell me if something like this could work, this is indeed my first time.

Quick deck with only two colors.
Basic idea is to get some token creatures quickly, and then POPULATE them.
Some creatures with EVOLVE for later game. Some extra defence against FLYING creatures.
Generally you should have more creatures (and quicker), than your opponent. Then outmaneuver him.

It may be short on lands, I could probably change some spells for two extra basic lands, but 3 mana should be enough to play most cards.

Fairly straight forward type of deck while blending Selesnya and Simic. Simic for the potential of explosive creatures and Selesnya for the bolstering affects it had. There's a bit of land here but the hope is for the deck to take off and keep rolling.

The creatures are failrly solid choices and offer more than just raw power. Using Evolve with a few cards and lots of smaller but nasty creatures I believe it'll be a force to reckon with.
