increasing vengeance

i was wondering about the wording on the increasing vengeance what does it mean by a card i control?  does it have to be in my hand or something that i may have cast this turn?
To copy a spell with IV, that spell must be on the stack. And you must be the one who put it there, by casting copying or simply putting. Or you gained control of it with Commandeer.
so i just dont copy any spell.  i have to cast another spell pay its mana cost then cast IV and pay its mana cost?
As I said, the spell you want to copy must be on the stack before you cast IV and you must control it. How it got there or how you gained control of it doesn't matter. Casting the spell yourself is just one way and the most common. But, for example, you could also copy an opponent's spell with Reverberate first, then use IV on the copy, which you control, since you're the one who put the copy on the stack. You don't pay anything for a copy, just the cost for the spell/ability that creates the copy.
so i just dont copy any spell.  i have to cast another spell pay its mana cost then cast IV and pay its mana cost?

Usually, yes. There are a couple of ways around this. You could cast IV on a copy of a spell that was cast based on the Cipher ability, or a Rebounded spell.

Remember that in the hand, graveyard, exile, or library that a card is always a CARD. It might be a CREATURE CARD, or an ENCHANTMENT CARD, or even a GOBLIN CARD[/C]; but it is still a card. On the battlefield it is usually refereed to by the contents of its type line only (I'm sure there's an exception out there somewhere, though). Only when you cast a card and it sits on the Stack waiting to resolve is it actually considered a SPELL. Spells can (as mentioned earlier) be copies (like from the [c=pyromatics]Replicate ability), just as some permanents on the Battlefield can be tokens.

Unfortunately, VCLs do not currently have the tools necessary to take moderation actions directly. VCLs submit their actions to ORCs, who then actually perform the action. This processing can take between a few minutes and several hours, depending on how busy/attentive the ORCs are.

If you see something that needs VCL attention, please use this thread to make a request and a VCL will look at it as soon as possible. CoC violations should be reported to Customer Service using the "report post" button. Please do not disrupt the thread by making requests of either kind in-thread.
