Total Deck Size: 40
17 Lands
---------------
8 Mountain
9 Plains

14 Creatures
---------------
2 Court Street Denizen
3 Daring Skyjek
2 Ember Beast
1 Firefist Striker
1 Foundry Street Denizen
1 Skinbrand Goblin
1 Skyknight Legionnaire
1 Spark Trooper
1 Syndic of Tithes
1 Wojek Halberdiers

9 Other Spells
---------------
1 Act of Treason
2 Aerial Maneuver
1 Angelic Edict
1 Knight Watch
1 Madcap Skills
1 Mugging
1 Pit Fight
1 Righteous Charge

I don't see how we could make a faster deck.
Going 3 colors is not my personal choice, but the low mana cost curve with a larger number of creatures is this deck's strong point over removal spells. Then Angelic Skirmisher is the bomb to blow the opponent out. That particular card stole a match from me at the PreRelease. I had my opponent down to 1 life, then his life gain ended me.

Straight up Boros seems like a pretty clear choice here.

7 Other Spells
---------------
1 Act of Treason

1 Holy Mantle
1 Knight Watch
1 Madcap Skills
1 Mugging
1 Righteous Charge

Boros is the obvious choice here. Only question is to splash green or not (for Swines). I went 2 color with 16 lands. Also I excluded Luminate Primordial, because this deck has to hit fast, primordial does not fit to this plan

1 Angelic Edict

After scrapping boros because I'm simply tired of boros (although there is a very strong pull there) I came up with what appears to be fairly strong deck.

Total Deck Size: 40
18 Lands
---------------
9 Plains
8 Swamp
1 Orzhov Guildgate

18 Creatures
---------------
1 Angelic Skirmisher
1 Balustrade Spy
1 Basilica Screecher
1 Cartel Aristocrat
2 Court Street Denizen
3 Daring Skyjek
1 Kingpin's Pet
1 Luminate Primordial
2 Millennial Gargoyle
1 Syndic of Tithes
1 Treasury Thrull
1 Undercity Informer
1 Vizkopa Confessor
1 Zarichi Tiger

4 Other Spells
---------------
1 Aerial Maneuver
1 Angelic Edict
1 Debtor's Pulpit
1 Executioner's Swing

I think Boros is the strongest guild here, and being the strongest guild generally that shouldn't be surprising. Yawn.

There are still some choices to be made. With so many good two-drops though you should be in an aggressive build and for me that meant leaving out the primordial.

There was a couple of temptations to go elsewhere with this one, but all together, quick and fast.

Boros was definitely remarkably strong in this set.  I went straight Boros.  Most people seem to be adding in the Towering Thunderfist and Nav Squad Commandoes, but I went for the Knight's Watch, which could allow us to overwhelm them with our already large number of 2 and 3 drops, and works well with the righteous charge.

Although I'm not a fan of Boros, I think a Boros aggro would be the best choice! Laughing

Surprise, I'm Boros too.  I kept a hard cap at 4 cmc and cut to 16 lands.  Maybe cutting the skirmisher and knight watch aren't the best idea, but I'd at least like to give this a shot.

From Mark Rosewater's Tumblr: the0uroboros asked: How in the same set can we have a hexproof, unsacrificable(not a word) creature AND a land that makes it uncounterable. How does this lead to interactive play? I believe I’m able to play my creature and you have to deal with it is much more interactive than you counter my creature.

MaRo: One of the classic R&D stories happened during a Scars of Mirrodin draft. Erik Lauer was sitting to my right (meaning that he passed to me in the first and third packs). At the end of the draft, Erik was upset because I was in his colors (black-green). He said, "Didn't you see the signals? I went into black-green in pack one." I replied, "Didn't you see my signals? I started drafting infect six drafts ago."

MaRo: I redesigned him while the effect was on the stack.

I didn't miss the Boros deck, but somehow I found this Gruul deck:

1 Gruul Guildgate

16 Creatures
---------------
1 Crowned Ceratok

7 Other Spells
---------------
1 Act of Treason
1 Hindervines
1 Madcap Skills
1 Mugging
1 Naturalize
1 Pit Fight
1 Verdant Haven

Couple of shady cards in there. I'd probably adjust to the Boros build if Round 1 didn't go well.

White and Black seemed the way to go here.  Great synergy and good pace I think.  Sadly had to leave out Red and the spark guy as just not worth it to splash the red with very little in the way of mana fixing.

I have a very good pool to work with today and managed to put together this super aggressive deck in BWR. I could've gone straight boros but I had quite a few extort creatures, BW value cards, and mono B value cards that I wasn't willing to pass up. So here we go:

This Deck was built in 0:12:41

Total Deck Size: 40
17 Lands
---------------
6 Mountain
6 Plains
4 Swamp
1 Orzhov Guildgate

18 Creatures

1 Mugging
1 Pit Fight

This Deck was built in 0:08:33

Total Deck Size: 40
17 Lands
---------------
8 Island
7 Swamp
1 Simic Guildgate
1 Thespian's Stage

17 Creatures
---------------
1 Balustrade Spy
1 Basilica Screecher
1 Dinrova Horror
1 Duskmantle Guildmage
1 Frilled Oculus
3 Horror of the Dim
1 Keymaster Rogue
2 Metropolis Sprite
2 Millennial Gargoyle
1 Sage's Row Denizen
1 Sapphire Drake
1 Slate Street Ruffian
1 Undercity Informer

6 Other Spells
---------------
1 Contaminated Ground
1 Hands of Binding
2 Paranoid Delusions
1 Totally Lost
1 Voidwalk

I was tempted to go with R/W but with the 2 Paranoid Delusions, a decent amount of flying, the unblockable Keymaster Rogue, and a few other creatures to help grind an opponents deck, I thought a deck grind deck may actually be a good way to go here.

Deck seems really really good. Best way to lose is probably bad mana, so no reason to splash or anything silly like that.

17 Lands
---------------
8 Mountain
9 Plains

16 Creatures
---------------
1 Angelic Skirmisher
2 Court Street Denizen
3 Daring Skyjek
2 Ember Beast
1 Firefist Striker
1 Luminate Primordial
1 Nav Squad Commandos
1 Skinbrand Goblin
1 Skyknight Legionnaire
1 Spark Trooper
1 Syndic of Tithes
1 Wojek Halberdiers

7 Other Spells
---------------
1 Act of Treason
1 Aerial Maneuver
1 Angelic Edict
1 Holy Mantle
1 Knight Watch
1 Madcap Skills
1 Mugging

Built an Orzhov deck first.  I liked all the cards in it, but I didn't like the cards that were missing from it... it needed a lot more spot removal than it had.  I decided instead to push for a lean and mean Boros build.

17 Creatures

7 Other Spells
---------------
1 Act of Treason
1 Aerial Maneuver
1 Holy Mantle
1 Knight Watch
1 Madcap Skills
1 Mugging
1 Righteous Charge

Perhaps shift to a more long-game centric plan with Thunderfist and Luminate Primordial if I'm up against a deck very good at blocking.  Otherwise, I like the speed and quantity of low-drops in this deck.  Righteous Charge looks primed to be a blowout.
