Draft rules

Please don't jump on me because this is not really a rules question but rather a question of where to find certain rules.  Where do I go on these forums to find the rules surrounding a draft game?  I think that is what they call it when you open 'x' amount of packs and build a deck from them.  Any help is appreciated.

Under tournament rules, here:

If you have a question about draft rules, feel free to ask it here.  This forum is for all MtG rules questions including tournament rules.
Magic Tournament Rules

In limited events (sealed or draft) there is no limit on card copies in your deck,
eg. if you get 6 copies of Murder in your pool, you can use them all.

Sealed is where you open 6 packs and build a deck.
Draft is where you open 3 packs and pass them round the table.

That makes no sense to me. If they spelled the ability out on the card in full then it would not be allowed in a mono-black Commander deck, but because they used a keyword to save space it is allowed? ~ Tim
Yup, just like you can have Birds of paradise in a mono green deck but not Noble Hierarch. YAY COLOR IDENTITY

Is algebra really that difficult?
Survey says yes.

You want to make a milky drink. You squeeze a cow.
I love this description. Like the cows are sponges filled with milk. I can see it all Nick Parks claymation-style with the cow's eyes bugging out momentarily as a giant farmer squeezes it like a squeaky dog toy, and milk shoots out of it.

And no judge will ever give you a game loss for playing snow covered lands.
I now have a new goal in life. ;)
Now I have a specific rules questions.  In the rules (thanks everyone by the way) for draft and sealed it states you build a minimum 40 card deck.  I am assuming that would mean 40 cards, including your lands, correct?

Correct.
Yes, otherwise you'd be forced to play almost everything you drafted, since you end up with only 42 cards total (and 3 basic lands).
You might also want to go and look in the 'Limited (Sealed and Draft)' forum a few pages down for some tips.  It is not something you can pick up overnight, but reading, watching and absorbing will help over time.

Cheers
