Has anyone brewed up 5 Color Control yet post Gatecrash?

I'm thinking it's something that could be done now that we have all the shocklands, chromatic lanturn, Gilded Lotus, far seek, etc...

I'm thinking it could potentially use things like:

Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker
Abrupt Decay
Vraska The Unseen
Thragtusk
Sphinx's Revelation
Murder

What would you guys use?

Most of those cards do nothing when YOU DIE ON TURN THREE.

Why does everyone think I'm phantom lancer? QFT:

I hope all this helps you to see things in a greater light—and understand that Magic: the Gathering was really created by extraterrestials using Richard Garfield as a medium. The game itself reflects the socio-psycho realtivity between living beings, and the science that takes precedence over them—to define reality for them all (like telekinesis, weather, scientific reaction, phenomenon, ingenuity, how the brain works, etc.). I'd also bet there is an entity floating thousands of miles above us, looking down on the current state of game, shaking its fist like... "Wtf are you doing?! You're getting it all screwed up!". Awkward—to be evolved, and yet still subject to the ladder that is the concepts of the game. In this case, misconception, corruption, and deception. With the realities of each color becoming distorted (through oblivious designers), leading the game to reflect a false state of reality that warps the understanding that other people have about those things. For example, people thinking that white could be anything except pure good. This shouldn't be too far off though, I mean...Magic is designed based on reality after all, so that entity (those entities) should be subject to those things. Anyways, I guess when you're busy doing space stuff you can't always be around to ensure quality control. It's no wonder they choose Garfield, they're so much alike; that's exactly what happened to him and Magic.

You're using too many colors. Four will do just fine.

And the answer is yes.

Yeah u cut out green and play hardcore control.

Plenty of t1/2 answers to stupid naya aggro. Deck is fast but dumb. Blunt the assault and your golden

Guy at my locals runs a Standard Superfriends deck that requires all five colors.  I'm not sure which Shocklands, Guildgates, or Basic lands he runs, though.

Very little insentive to play more than 3 colors, considering the speed of the format.  taking too much damage from your lands is certianly a liability.

Blue is the best color ever. How do you deal?  ------------------------------  Team GFG - "gulf, foxtrot, gulf"

I'm running a 4-color where I almost never have to play a shock untapped, and if I do it's only about once per game.

Even a single shockland activated is enough to mean the difference between life and death against a nut draw from Naya Humans or even RG Aggro.

I can't justify more than 3 colors in the current meta, but then again I've lost plenty of times to 4 Color Control.

In summary i have no idea if it's viable for a major tournament victory, but you won't see me running it.

Better to pay 2 life and cast the Pillar than wait and get beaten by the 5/5 Champion...

Just saying.

i've seen 4 color control running not black, and running not green. I think not black has the best mana base, and not green is too wonky without farseek.

Not White.

Not White.

So no Revelation, O-ring, Sphere, or Angels?

I'd have a hard time with no white putting up a great list in 4 colors.

Verdict and Terminus are probably more important by spades than O-Ring, Sphere, maybe even Angels.
My god, it's like Standard players have forgotten how good RUG is.

Why any better than Esper or 4-5 color?

IMAGE(http://www.nodiatis.com/pub/12.jpg)

It is 4-color. Black is the lowest-count splash, however, and the deck is based around the RUG core. Black gives better removal and finishers.

And it's better than Esper because you get to run cards that are actually good right now, instead of hoping you can god-draw against aggro.
