Mana source was a very short-lived card type, introduced in Mirage and retired in the Sixth Edition's rules changes. It existed due to the timing/speed rules they had in the time, before the Stack (introduced in Sixth Edition).
Really, only Dark Ritual (Mirage, Tempest, Fifth Edition and Urza's Saga printings) and Culling the Weak (from Exodus) were ever printed with the 'mana source' type.Probably the cards Sacrifice, Burnt Offering, Songs of the Damned and Spoils of Evil were errated to have this type back then, but I'm not sure.
What did the phrase "mana source" refer to on the Mirage version of Mystical Tutor? Did this allow the player to fetch land? Thanks in advance, and if this is in the wrong Forum, apologies!
