I've been challenged to create a full standard environment. Since I have absolutely no life and nothing better to do; I decided to go about eight steps further and make a complete 8 year plan. I've only given myself two real restrictions.

1. Every card must be printable. Simple enough...

2. No reprints. None. No functional, actual, or self-contained reprints. Every card will be different

So, this is a thread to contain my ideas/information and hopefuly get feedback about the sets contained within.

Year 1

Wedge block - Asurun/Emergence/Angelfall
Mechanics Overview
Returning mechanic: Wither
In every color but blue, primarily in black, secondary in green and white.

Shezeme faction mechanic: Deconstruct
Deconstruct N [cost]
You may cast this for [cost]. If you do, exile it with N study counters on it. At the beginning of each upkeep, you may remove a study counter from it.
Each card with deconstruct has a minor effect related to its primary effect when cast. N is proportional to the primary effect. Somewhat like suspend, but without

missed trigger issues.
Colors: Green, blue, and black

Alanar faction mechanic: Ratify
Ratify [cost]
At the beginning of each upkeep, if this came under your control since the beginning of your last upkeep, you may pay [cost].
Each card with ratify has a kicker-like effect with ratify. Essentially echo turned into kicker.
Colors: Red, white, and blue

Sarsalia faction mechanic: Contract
Contract [cost]
You may cast this for [cost]. If you do, it enters the battlefield bound to an unbound creature you control. When you lose control of that creature, sacrifice this.
Contract cards have an alternate cost; some lower, some higher. Contract cards with a higher cost give a benefit to the creature they are bound to, creatures with a lower cost generally do not have an effect on the creature they are bound to, but may have a downside depending on the cost discount.
Colors: White, black, and red

Laqos/Illarie faction mechanic: Trim into [permanent type]
Whenever another permanent that shares a type with this enters the battlefield, you may sacrifice this. If you do, you may put a [permanent type] from your hand onto the battlefield.
Colors: Black, green, and white

Heikor faction mechanic: Shape [cost]
[cost], Reveal this card from your hand, Discard a card: Copy this card then cast the copy without paying its mana cost. Shape only when you could cast this.
Colors: Blue, red, and green.

Yes. I also have seven core set files set aside for designing as well, but since those are more general fantasy trope and synergy with the blocks, they don't really need a spot in the plan part of the list. I'll probably just put summaries/links to the complete core sets in one of the reserved posts once I finish them. As for 8 blocks, like I said, I have absolutely no life so I might as well develop my ideas.

Eternity Seeker () is also cool. I would like it more if it made two tokens, but I can see why it's not that way.

I'm ok with Dreadborn Laqosi having that interaction, since there isn't an easy way to word it so it still shuts off trim. Plus there's only one card in the set that interacts with it that way and it would only happen rarely in limited... Other formats will figure out how to deal with it if it becomes a big enough problem there.
