i'm basically feeling forced to be on a beatdown or midrange creature-based "kick" since blue is a bad color to be in at this time.

i feel there hasn't been a lot of discuss on this, but this seems solid.  it also has a lot of room for growth.

the removal suite could be more burn, less tragic crap.

deathrite shaman seems lackluster against all this beatdown.  is there merit to running arbor elf or some other 2 power 1 drop (dryad militant to keep with the heavy green?)

is thundermaw needed?

can the deck support a kessig wolf run?

SB?

Thoughts?

Eh, Shaman's still repeatable burn against a majority of decks. If you were going to run a 1 drop with intentions of aggression, I'd try Legion Loyalist. In a lot of situations, you can basically look at it as "Pay a R in addition to Dreg Mangler/Boar/Hellkite/Hellrider's cost : Dominate this combat phase."

-1 Cemetery is the route I'd take if I were to add a Kessig. Thundermaw is at worst a lava axe, and one of the best top decks you can draw IMO, so yes, I feel like he's needed.

I agree, -Slip, + Ultimate Price / Dreadbore as you see fit. SB looks okay, may want Flames of the Firebrand instead of Temblor, as it still 2 for 1s against RDW in a lot of situations, but can dome the opponent in all of them. I don't feel like Gruul Charm is worth running until we're given a solid reason to do so; maybe add 1 Rakdos Charm and 1 Skullcrack

i don't see how loyalist is even worth considering?  its a 1/1 for 1 at the cost of a card/draw step.

if anything, i'd want something like rakdos cackler.

i know deathrite is possible repeatable damage, but it also sucks a mana every turn, which could be an issue.

flames of the firebrand seems ok, but i don't think there are enough 2 for 1 siutations to make it good enough.  maybe i'm wrong.  the tremblor seems decent since most of the creatures in the deck are X/3 or bigger.

DRS helps deal with flashback, reanimator, and snaps... all of which are pretty good against this. I think it's probably more important that it looks at first glance. Tragic slip could probably be just about anything else, since weenie aggro decks do not worry this list.

I question the if thundermaw is needed in this list. You only need so many finishers. I love haste, but they just printed an excellent anti-haste card in obedience and having another card weak to that seems mediocre. With all the low range aggro I might up the number of abrupt decay.

I might test -2 thundermaw -1  land (not sure which yet) +1 wolf run +1 abrupt decay +1 garruk relentless

Decay helps out against those maindeck blind obedience. Relentless is also good anti control, and isnt bad vs aggro (fight a silverblade paladin, etc). You also have strangleroot geist and a ton of hasted guys so his flip side should be good.

Deathrite shaman I can see being very helpful vs opposing geists and has great utility against snapcaster and reanimator that I think he is worth keeping but I could be wrong.

so after some beta testing with this deck....

this deck is scary.... like really scary.  the version played in the SCG event was close, but it should be playing 4 pillar, 4 spear.  the burn is good with basically mono haste.dec.

act of treason is a very reasonable sideboard card.  i'm running 3.

abrupt decay is fine, but i want it in the board, not really main.  mizzium mortars is better maindeck i believe.  (could definitely be wrong about this)

now that my brewing hat is on, i'm playing a bunch of random crap.... all aggro, since everything else is terrible, sadly.

Is Ulvenwald Tracker considerable over tslip? Domri? The fight mechanic seems really good with this deck, especially since it's repeatable. Plus being so creature heavy Domri is good card advantage.

Legion Loyalist is wayyyy better than you think. He was the one drop in the only deck that totally dominated me at FNM last week. I know he seems like just a 1/1, but he's rediculous. Cheers!
I think Legion Loyalist deserves testing against the deathrites main. At the worst a T1 loyalist, t2 boar, t3 dregmangler just gets a freight train rolling...although late game he is anti climatic UNLESS your at a board stalemate and then he comes out of left field for the W. I wouldn't completely write it off just yet, I do agree that the shaman takes too much mana early on when you want to be playing a dude.

This is more or less the list i'm playing right now.  i'm actually playing thundermaw hellkites over the rampagers since they aren't released online until this weekend.  i might keep the dragons, but i'm not sure if they'll be good enough.

anyways, this deck is fast.   really fast.  nothing is clunky.  everything is effecient and/or has haste.

the deck is subject to change a lot as i test more, but i was certainly crushing most everything i faced.  no one could get a board online fast enough.

@tierdrop, i don't want something as slow as tracker or domri.  they aren't necessary and really don't fit the theme of the deck.

This. I kind of feel forced into aggro, and then it's, "better win by turn four or they'll stabilize with Thragtusk into Restoration angel."
I would have killed, literally ended someones life, to NOT have Arrogant Bloodlord riding a giant ant... Good times:

but where DID the other fork come from?

Lord_Zed: I was at my friends house when this happened. He's married and his wife was an excellent baker. She had baked a homemade apple pie the night before. I was hungry, and my friend convinced me to try those low carb monster drinks. Before this day, I had never triend energy drinks before. Boy was I in for a treat. When I tried that first monster, I really enjoyed the flavor, but the taste that it left in my mouth wasn't so good. What was my solution? Drink another! before I could finish drinking that 2nd monster, I felt it already kicking in(these drinks were not very far apart, we're talking minutes here) my friend decided that it was a good idea to whip out that fresh pie his wife made the night before. I didn't know what to do, since I felt incredibly invigorated, and at the same time, freaked out by the rush I was feeling, but I was also hungry, and my friend have me an entire plate with a fork and said "help yourself." He extended his saucer to me, and I cut him a piece of the pie and handed it to him, then I looked at the pie, noticed that the pie was in an aluminum holder, and dumped the entire pie onto my plate and started eating it with 2 forks. I don't know where I found that other fork, it probably came from my friend. Anyhow, his wife wasn't happy, and I was already in magical christmas land. 2 days later, I was in my friends bed and I slept for 14 hours. His wife outlawed my from having any of her baked goods for a while(which sucked because I could just show up at there house, steal some sweets, and leave) and said I couldn't have any energy drinks at her house, unless under close watch. My friend, on the other hand, had to take me out to a steak dinner, because apparently I won a bet where I climbed a tree and didn't die.

and jund aggro can certainly beat resolved thrag and angels.  keep applying pressure.

the act of treasons are there mostly for thrags or other brick walls.
