suppose i go to an FNM draft with a friend, and he signs up and i just watch silently.
and then after round one, he has to go home. may i play for him for rounds two onwards?
I'd say no. In fact, that could easily be viewed as an attempt to manipulate your friend's DCI rating.

I don't think it's DCI approved, but if the store owner allowed it, no one would have to say you're a different person
lol, but people would be like "are you [friend's name]" and i'd have to be all like "y..yeah, i'm [friend's name], nice to meet you"
You absolutly can not.  Using another players number is fraud, on top of that players may only participate in matches they are actually present for.  Here is the rule:

From the MTG Tournament Rules:

1.5. DCI Membership Number
Tournament participants must provide their DCI number to the Scorekeeper during registration.

1.10. Players

Players are responsible for:
    .
    .
    .
Being physically present for the tournament. Players are not permitted to register for a tournament solely to collect participation Planeswalker Points.

great, thanks segoth.
Presumly you could play friendly matches with your friends deck, they just wouldn't count for the tournament?

Yeah you could play friendly games with the players that got a bye because your friend dropped.

I am Blue/White Reached DCI Rating 1800 on 28/10/11. :D

That makes no sense to me. If they spelled the ability out on the card in full then it would not be allowed in a mono-black Commander deck, but because they used a keyword to save space it is allowed? ~ Tim
Yup, just like you can have Birds of paradise in a mono green deck but not Noble Hierarch. YAY COLOR IDENTITY

Survey says yes.

I love this description. Like the cows are sponges filled with milk. I can see it all Nick Parks claymation-style with the cow's eyes bugging out momentarily as a giant farmer squeezes it like a squeaky dog toy, and milk shoots out of it.

And no judge will ever give you a game loss for playing snow covered lands.
