Questions about Arcane Thesis and Metamagic School Focus feat interaction

I have a couple of questions regarding these feats:

I have Arcane Thesis: Enervation. I want to apply two Metamagic Feats to it: Silent Spell (+1 spell slot level) and Still Spell (+1 spell slot level). The way I am reading the Arcane Thesis feat, I would reduce slot adjustment on ALL Metamagic Feats by 1, causing it to remain a 4th-level spell. Is this a correct interpretation? I have not applied multiple Metamagic feats to Enervation during gameplay because I didn't want to use it incorrectly; any clarification I can get on this would be much appreciated.

I am considering taking Metamagic School Focus: Necromancy and therefore have a similar question. It looks as though I can reduce the spell slot adjustment by 1 on any Metamagic applied to my chosen school (Necromancy) 3/day. Is it possible to use this feat in conjunction with multiple Metamagic feats? Say I wanted to apply Silent Spell and Still Spell to an Undeath to Death spell (a 6th-level spell). Could I use two uses of Metamagic School Focus: Necromancy (one use for Silent Spell, one use for Still Spell) when preparing the spell, thus keeping it a 6th-level spell?

Most importantly, how do these two feats work in conjunction with one another? Suppose I want to apply Empower Spell (+2 spell slot level)  to Enervation; Arcane Thesis: Enervation would reduce the slot level adjustment to +1, but would I then be permitted to expend a use of Metamagic School Focus: Necromancy to further reduce the slot level adjustment to +0?

Finally, how do Arcane Thesis and Metamagic School Focus work when multiple Metamagic Feats are applied to the spell in question? Suppose I wanted to further enhance the aforementioned Empowered Enervation spell with Maximize Spell (+3 spell slot level); would Arcane Thesis: Enervation reduce the adjustment of both  Metamagic Feats to +1 (Empower Spell) and +2 (Maximize Spell)? Could I then expend two uses of Metamagic School Focus: Necromancy to further reduce the slot level adjustments of said feats to +0 and +1, respectively?

This seems like a strong combination of feats, which is why I am seeking clarification so as not to break any rules, but not necessarily game-breakingly so--especially compared to (literally) world-shattering might of some of the creations I've seen on these boards! Any insight into the rules that would apply in this situation would be very much appreciated.

Yep, that's exactly how Arcane Thesis works, and why it's rather awesome. (I would, however, question the merit in taking Still and (especially) Silent Spell at all.)

"Three times per day, you can reduce by one level the cost of a metamagic feat..." - it's per feat, per spell. You'd need two uses for the Still Silent Undeath to Death.

Yep, that's also how it works (subject to the 3/day Metamagic School Focus limit). Multiple cost reducers stack. In most cases, they can even go negative if you have enough reducers (i.e. if you were applying Silent Spell on Enervation with both of those feats, Silent Spell would have a net -1 level adjustment - or if you used Invisible Spell (Cityscape) it'd be a -2 adjustment). However, in (almost) every case, you can't lower the spell level below what it would be without any metamagic feats.

(If you're wondering how those last two sentences work together, look what would happen with an Invisible (+0 base, -1 Thesis, -1 Focus) Quickened (+4 base, -1 Thesis, -1 School Focus) Enervation - a 4th level spell.)

You're reading this correctly. And you're also right about the uses of School Focus spent.

Metamagic cost reduction is central to a lot of existing builds (perhaps most prominently anything involving Divine Metamagic, but also the Incantrix and Psycarnum Infusion/Midnight Metamagic); there's a lot of leeway there.

Be advised that Still and Silent are among the worst choices you can take, with Empower and Maximize rarely if ever being useful. The only time you'll ever see Still or Silent used at all is if you're getting them for free (Beguiler, Shadowcraft Mage, any of the psionic classes, etc). Empower and Maximize rarely if ever see use because the spellcaster's strength typically isn't chugging dice so much as just saying what happens with binary effects. (Not to mention in the rare cases where you'd want them you can typically get their effect in another way - for instance, a shadowcraft mage can get a free Empower effect by casting Planar Bubble.) And all of this assumes that you're even looking at spells that would work with these - chances are you can get the effect elsewhere (in the case of negative levels, you'd have better luck adding Fell Drain onto things than casting Enervation itself. In fact, it's possible (but tricky) to be able to cast a few Fell Drain Sonic Snaps at level 1.)

Cancer prognosis: I am now cancer-free.

Seishi: I think it might be fun to have a one-off [game] tuned fairly, but with the intention of wiping the party.

DisposableHero_: if [my campaign] has taught me nothing else, it is that with this group, nothing tuned fairly will ever wipe the party

RadicalTaoist: I've been throwing **** at this group that's 5 levels over CRed in DFN, and have yet to wipe the party.

Wow. I have to say, Tempest_Stormwind, you have gone well above and beyond the call of duty with that post! Thank you so much for clearly and thoroughly answering all of my questions and expounding upon each explanation; I couldn't have asked for a better reply.

By the way: you mentioned "Incantrix." What sourcebook can I find that in?

Edit: Your warnings regarding metamagic are duly noted. I used the Metamagic Feats in question--particularly Still Spell and Silent Spell--for their specific spell-slot adjustment levels (to determine if Arcane Thesis and Metamagic School Focus could be used in tandem and if a spell-slot adjustment could be reduced to +0), not realizing that someone far more knowledgeable than myself would not only come in here and resolve that confusion but propose an even more elegant solution far surpassing in complexity and ingenuity anything I had even considered! For that, you again have my thanks!
By the way: you mentioned "Incantrix." What sourcebook can I find that in?

Player's Guide to Faerun. Be warned that it's one of the strongest wizard prestige classes out there. (There's more powerful builds that don't use it, but in terms of one-stop-shopping for raw power, I don't think there's much better.) And this is for a class that's already more powerful (and complex) than pretty much everything else in the game.

You might also find the links in my signature worth reading. Or, for something more general, the handbooks are a place to start. (There's a lot more than the ones on that link out there - they grew, largely, out of the CO boards here, but migrated to other forums over time. Sadly, those forums are suffering technical woes at the moment, but RuleofCool is hosting mirrors wherever possible.)

Cancer prognosis: I am now cancer-free.

It's not optmal, but that nets you spells that can't be idetified by spellcraft. Combine with Deceptive Spell and it's imposible to tell you're the spellcaster. Not the best use of feats, but it'd be fun. Combine with a Hengeyokai's animal form (Carp FTW) or Tibbit and you're now the party's lucky pet.
Quick question about Chain Spell: do the negative levels from Enervation count as "damage" for the purposes of the Feat's "damage mitigation"?

And thank you again, Tempest_Stormwind. I'll check it out!

And, um, I hope this isn't awkward, seeing as how we just met and all, but if the prognosis mentioned in your signature refers to what I think it does, here's hoping you hear back with some good news very soon!

Negative levels aren't damage and don't interact with anything that works off of damage. Think of them like, say, fear or poison (they're conditions). However, a DM might easily rule otherwise just to rein you in a bit: negative levels are rather potent for a condition.

(I'm coming off of radiation and will know how that went for sure in May.)

Cancer prognosis: I am now cancer-free.
