Realmwright
Creature - Veldaken Wizard

As Realmwright enters the battlefield, choose a basic land type.

Lands you control are the chosen type in addition to their other types.

1/1

Blue Mana-fix, for 1 mana. This is pretty good. Makes a lot of stuff splashable, without needing green.
Choose mountains and watch the world burn.

best friends with crypt ghast
so I guess the ability dissappears if it dies.
I really like this, but I don't know if it'll see play in Standard. I can think of a few places this could go in Modern, though.

This is bad make no mistake it looks cool but it's terrible.

Mother of Primordials...Blue. Color Fixing. In a dual-colored deck, this is practically a blue Joiner Adept.

WotC just needs to write a letter to all magic players that reads:

"Please, please, PLEASE play Mutilate."

Yeesh.

I found Carmen Sandiego before you were born unless you're Zlehtnoba.

Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth #2 for Cabal Coffers in your U/B(/X) EDH deck.
This guy makes me sad because he doesn't make the lands in your deck the additional card type.

This guy makes me giddy because he's best buds with Dungrove Elder, Khalni Hydra and Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle

EDIT: Why is it :U:? It would have made more sense in :R: or :G:

Because blue is all about messing with the subtypes. Same reason Convincing Mirage is blue.

Moriok Rigger does absolutely nothing to boost other riggers. You are incorrect.
Moriok Rigger is not a Rigger in print. Only in Errata WHAT NOW! (yes, I did put that phrase in for that exact reason)
Congratulations, they have activated your trap card!

It has always been blue.

Honestly, they just took the Ravnica common Terraformer to its natural rare conclusion.

@mikemearls The office is basically empty this week, which opens up all sorts of possibilities for low shenanigans

@mikemearls In essence, all those arguments I lost are being unlost. Won, if you will. We're doing it MY way, baby.

@biotech66 aren't you the boss anyway? isn't "DO IT OR I FIRE YOU!" still an option?

@mikemearls I think Perkins would throat punch me if I ever tried that. And I'd give him a glowing quarterly review for it.

lets say you play this and you only have islands out. you choose to make them mountains too

if you tapped the land for mana, would it produce both and ? or your choice of the  2?

~Your either my puppet or my matchstick~

color preferences (1st is fav and so on):

Your choice of the two.

Ya know if you make a statement like "this card looks good but is really terrible" you should probably quantify it with some sort of reasoning so that others can understand why you think this is a bad card.  When you just say a card is bad but you don't say why it just sounds like you are complaining about a card to complain which I don't think you are.
interesting.

Green and red make more mana. Blue changes land types.
It's been that way since Alpha, actually.

This effect is as Blue as card draw.

This and Crypt Ghast are going to be real good friends in UB.

I rather like this one.  I think it's pretty good.
is the ability permanent? It would be nice if every land I owned turned into a swamp permanently so my mutilates can actually hit for the amount of lands I have as opposed to hitting to -2/-2 on turn 5 or something like that.

it doesn't say otherwise so I think they are permanently changed.

<3 I can go Esper without ever dipping into white =D
This guy seems dumb in blue, but I'll take it.
Actually, you know what would have been cool?

Realmwright - G
Creature - Elf Wizard
As ~ enters the battlefield, choose a basic land type.
Lands you control are the chosen type in addition to their other types.
T: Add one mana of any color a land you control could produce to your mana pool.

blue mana-dork!

that's... wierd.

he wanted it to be green not blue, does green really need anymore mana dorks? not saying that blue should have any mana dorks, just noting that green has a significant number of them right now...

go grixis  :U::R:

lol or that. Right now I'm only Dimir.

so if you have 4 of these on the battlefield, does that mean you basically have a chromatic lantern?

...no? It can be a similar effect, but that is so unlikely and unnecessary that it is not worth comparing.
Standard Pauper! (play it on MTGO)

they don't need to stay on the field, the effect is permanent I assume because it doesn't say the effect ends once they leave.
The effect ends if the creature dies. The effect is static, not a once-off trigger (which would only affect lands in play at the time, not future ones).

huh. blink it 4 times and proceed to play 5 colours... =/
ok now I am confused.
It's the same as cards that say "Elf creatures get +1/+1". If the card is removed, the Elves don't keep their bonus.
ok now I am confused.

If the effect was permanent, it would say something along the lines of, "Choose a basic land type and put a Chromatic counter on each land you control.  As long as they have a Chromatic counter, they are the chosen type in addition to their normal types."

It's the same as cards that say "Elf creatures get +1/+1". If the card is removed, the Elves don't keep their bonus.

Yeah. If it said something like "Choose a land type. Lands entering play gain that type," that would be permanent. Instead, the effect lasts only as long as the Realmwright does.
It's like Prismatic Omen but on a vulnerable easy-to-kill body.

I'm not expecting much from this card.  Omen has a Modern combo deck, but I doubt that deck swaps for a more vulnerable combo piece.

Cats land on their feet. Toast lands peanut butter side down. A cat with toast strapped to its back will hover above the ground in a state of quantum indecision.

for only 1 blue though this can be a really nice mana fixer for your game-changing turn play.

NO card does that. One wonders if any card WILL ever do that. Few cards alter or add onto the types of objects not in visible, public zones; Xenograft, Ashes of the Fallen, even Homing Sliver all have to operate in public zones to confer their qualities.
