tap : add W or B to your mana pool.
WB : Orzhov keyrune becomes a 1/4 white and black thrull artifact creature with lifelink until end of turn

"you only need to wield it once to appreciate the power of control."
Beware !!!! There are Zombies even in Spaces !!!
Lifelink:  Expected.

Super-Wall creature:  Less expected.

Will be fine in limited methinks.  Other than that I have no idea.

Damn, that's actually a good keyrune. Solid blocker.

Winner of the YMTC Ravnica War of the Guilds contest as guild Dimir.

Snapcaster Mage is the best card of all time. How do you deal?

Not as solid as Rakdos Keyrune, needless to say.
Standard Pauper! (play it on MTGO)
I was expecting this to fly or perhaps be a 2/2.  I did not expect a 1/4 blocker dude.  Huh.
Come check out my friend's youtube channel where he gives bad movies what's coming to them!

Wow, actually pretty nice now that I think about it.  If it would have flying or something it'd be aggressive, but this is a great defensive creature.  Fits Orzhov as the slow, grindy control guild.
Holy 4 toughness.

Great for bleeder.

Boros Keyrune remains sad.

EDIT:  Also love the flavor text. Really evocative of summoning a mindless flesh best. Haha.
Not as solid as Rakdos Keyrune, needless to say.

This thing beats Rakdos Keyrune.

Definitely good for Orzhov's more control-oriented strategy.

I really wanted it to have extort... so wishful thinking though.

3DH4LIF3

1/4?

This is stupid - 1/4 is crab-sized, the p/t should have swapped with Simic.
lol. hi wall with lifegain. not bad.
Orzhov is the slowest and most defensive guild so it makes sense it gets the beefiest keyrune.

Interestingly, save for Dimir, Golgari and Azorius, this keyrune blocks other keyrunes quite profitably.

Funny story: InQuest Magazine (I think it was InQuest) had an oversized Chaos Orb which I totally rooked someone into allowing into a (non-sanctioned) game. I had a proxy card that was a Mountain with "Chaos Orb" written on it. When I played it, my opponent cried foul: Him: "WTF? a Proxy? no-one said anything about Proxies. Do you even own an actual Chaos Orb?" Me: "Yes, but I thought it would be better to use a Proxy." Him: "No way. If you're going to put a Chaos Orb in your deck you have to use your actual Chaos Orb." Me: "*Sigh*. Okay." I pulled out this huge Chaos Orb and placed it on the table. He tried to cry foul again but everyone else said he insisted I use my actual Chaos Orb and that was my actual Chaos Orb. I used it, flipped it and wiped most of his board. Unsurprisingly, that only worked once and only because everyone present thought it was hilarious.

Hi guys! So, I'm a sort of returning player to Magic. I say sort of because as a child I had two main TCG's I liked. Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon. Some of my friends branched off in to Magic, and I bought two pre-made decks just to kind of fit in. Like I said, Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon were what I really knew how to play. I have a extensive knowledge of deck building in those two TCG's. However, as far as Magic is concerned, I only ever used those two pre made decks. I know how the game is played, and I know general things, but now I want to get in the game for real. I want to begin playing it as a regular. My question is, are all cards ever released from the time of the inception of this game until present day fair game in a deck? Or are there special rules? Are some cards forbidden or restricted? Thanks guys, and I will gladly accept ANY help lol.
I have the same problem with women.

That's what RPJesus tends to do. That's why I don't think he's a real person, but some Magic Card Archive Server sort of machine, that is programmed to react to other posters' comments with obscure cards that do in fact exist, but somehow missed by even the most experienced Magic players. And then come up with strange combos with said cards. All of that is impossible for a normal human to do given the amount of time he does it and how often he does it. He/It got me with Light of Sanction, which prompted me to go to RQ&A to try and find if it was even possible to do combat damage to a creature I control (in light that Mark of Asylum exists).

Initially yes, Wizards was married to blue. However, about a decade ago they had a nasty divorce, and a few years after that they began courting the attention of Green. Then in Worldwake they had a nasty affair with their ex, but as of Innistrad, things seem to have gotten back on track, and Wizards has even proposed.

ok this one seems quite good. definitely happy with a 1/4.
Going to run this if I ever make Orz. The rune basically gives you a free extort every turn after and gives you a 1/4 blocker with lifelink? I likey a lot.
This will be a pain in Limited... Which is perfectly Orzhov. XD

Not as solid as Rakdos Keyrune , needless to say.

Except this will kill the Rakdos Keyrune while netting you a point of life. So yeah... not really terrible, is it?

@speedy92286:  How does this give you a free extort every turn?  Unless I've missed something, extort triggers upon you casting a spell, which only relates to the Keyrune when you initially play it.  Activating its abilities has no interaction with extortion whatsoever.
To whom it may concern: it's getting really old, being unable to see the top half of anything autocarded in the first post of each thread. Fixplz, kthx.
Flavour text sucks you guys

"You only need to wield it once to appreciate the power of having power over something"
Nice, it gives you mana to extort, or gives you a huge blocker if you need one. Go go limited bleed!
Its the sort of card that almost gets me into Orzhov for the prerelease. Almost.
A really great card.
: sideboards Vandalblast.

That one looks annoying. Not an outright game-winner, but fits perfectly into the Orzhov strategy. I'm liking Orzhov more and more- but really don't look forward to playing against them.
You are Red/Blue!

Huh.
Good thing I never bet on it being a 2/2.

As said, the 1/4 is unexpected but it does play into the "death of a thousand cuts" feel they're going for with Orzhov this time.
I agree lifelink was expected but being a 1/4 was not.  This seems pretty nice.  And bonus points for turning into a Thrull!

Furthermore, nobody was necessarily saying that it was a groundbreaking piece of flavor text or anything. Just that we liked it. Smile

I think it fits the card just fine, in both Orzhov flavor and in terms of what you are actually "doing" by weilding it, even if it's a relatively simple, straightforward quip.
great blocker. the 4 toughness beats all the other keyrunes and a majority of creatures in the early game. plus 1 free life...how orzhov :P

Whether or not this kills Rakdos Keyrune is completely irrelevant. Rakdos Keyrune swings in for 3 and is generally a much better blocker than this, bar some corner cases. Rakdos Keyrune is a more powerful card in constructed, period.

The synergy with extort is great, though. This will be a relevant card in limited.

That's not synergy. That's just nonconflict. Having a bear in play has as much synergy with Extort.
