Seems a little expensive considering it needs multiple other resources in order to do anything. Still a fun card though.
Why is it that "Ooze" is always just a keyword for "Unplayable"?

What about this one?

As for the card - not too great, unfortunately.

I guess Voidslime was technically an ooze. And that was/is playable.

Also this card is laaaaame. There are green EDH decks, like Ghave, Guru of Spores that want this (maybe?), but otherwise... meh.
Garbage.

Check out my twitch.tv stream below where I play magic online limited queues. Don't forget to follow if you enjoy what I'm presenting to show your support!

Interacts well with Death's Presence.

Creature dies (say, 4/4). Plop 4 counters on a guy.

Activate this, to turn those 4 counters into a guy.

If that guy dies, you just get the four counters back on the board again.

As long as you have a body out for the tokens, you get to keep all your power on the board forever (as long as your creatures are actually "dying" and not getting exiled/detained)

I knew someone would point to that. If it saw play in like one fringe deck at one specific time, I still don't consider it "played".

If it was two mana, I'd call this playable.

I like this card quite a bit; makes use of dying Evolve dudes.

Also, amazing synergy with Evolve. Take a counter off each Evolve guy, put an X/X into play, triggering all the Evolve guys again. Repeat.

Acidic Slime, Necroplasm and Predator Ooze have all done pretty well for themselves in tournament settings.
Weird.  When I looked at this card i thought this would be bonkers with evolve.
Think about it.  As soon as you make an ooze, all evolve creatures get another +1/+1 counter (assuming your ooze isnt too small), so then you have more counters to make more oozes.
I'd say this card is very nice in limited.
Could be helper for undying deck, removing +1/+1 counter before undying creatures dies.
but yeah, that cmc, I wish it was 3 or 2 cmc
Beware !!!! There are Zombies even in Spaces !!!
Necrotic Ooze has had its moments, too.

This card? Not so much.
This, Ooze Garden... one day they'll get this card right.

And Undying too. You're right, if this was cheaper it'd probably be playable.

That's a slime. Not an ooze.

*hides*

Alright, lemme rephrase. Why does wizards print so many stupid unplayable ooze-based enchantments?

I like the idea but I don't think it's that good.
Definitely playable, but not ragingly amazing. It's cardless, 2 mana flashing critters- and that's pretty good. Something tells me that there are cheap enablers other than Quirion Dryad. So yeah- gusta, but not easily busted.

Ohhh, that's what it's for.
Combo!

Have 2+ evolve dorks out (1/X or X/1), get them to evolve at least once.
Then this card reads :G:: Slap a bear down under your control.

Seems legit.

I refuse to recognize that card because no playable cards should be available in only pre-packaged fashion.

2: Have 2+ Cloudfin Raptor, Experimant One, Elusive Krasis, Fantom Mage in play
3: This
4: Create X/X ooze for and maybe draw a card each time.

Kinda does, actually.

Also, I think people are writing this off way to easily.  4 CMC isn't a terribly high price to pay, it does have some interesting interaction with things in Standard right now.

For instance, a turn 3 Geralf's Messenger into a turn 4 this can be a pretty brutal combo to get around if you don't 2-for-1 the Messenger on the spot.  Even board sweepers can't save you from the messenger, as you can always leave 2 open for the thing.

Couple that with the building army of token you will undoubtedly be making and it doesn't seem at all bad.  Not ZOMG stellar, but not bad at all.

It should also be fun in EDH, methinks.   Though my experience isn't the greatest with it, I'm thinking some people may get a kick out of it.
It's a neat idea.  If you've got N evolve creatures at power N (each with at least 1 counter), you can remove a counter from each making an N/N ooze, then all the counters you stole come back.  even at 3 (decently doable), it's a prety efficent source of infinite creature tokens.  at 4+, it's as efficent to activate as Luminarch Ascension, but sadly lacks the flying.

Since the tokens aren't evasive and since the cost requires a decent amount of mechanical parisitism, it's a non-starter in tournaments, but it'll be a ton of fun at the kitchen table.

It's a nice evolve finisher.  Drop it when you have six mana and it's basically putting an on the curve creature into play that turn, and the same creature (or multiples thereof, since you can use the ability multiple times a turn) into play every turn thereafter.  It doesn't take anywhere near as long to ramp into as that Boros Assemble the Legion enchantment.

A nice card. I could see this getting play in EDH and even standard.

I love this card.  Don't think it wil see much stanard play though.  The shennaigans you can do with evolve or undying makes me smile.
It can also eat the counter from an undying guy to give you 2 surprise blockers.  I hope I get to day that during a draft or sealed game once Dragon
Maze come out and we get to use all 10 guidlds together.
This, Ooze Garden ... one day they'll get this card right.

They sure are trying aren't they Gutter Grime.
"I have existed from the morning of the world and I shall exist until the last star falls from the night. Although I have taken the form of Gaius Caligula, I am all men as I am no man and therefore I am a God."
I can imagine this now... blood artist + this card + connoisseur + a bunch of undying peeps. Let them all sacrifice, pay 2 mana, let them all sacrifice again, pay 2 mana, let them all sacrifice, pay 2 mana...
If you use this to take all the counters of your Evolve creaures, does the ooze token trigger Evolve and put one back on each if it is big enough?

Ohhh, that's what it's for.

Well that and "Oh, you think removal will save you. How cute." in an evolve deck.

That's what RPJesus tends to do. That's why I don't think he's a real person, but some Magic Card Archive Server sort of machine, that is programmed to react to other posters' comments with obscure cards that do in fact exist, but somehow missed by even the most experienced Magic players. And then come up with strange combos with said cards. All of that is impossible for a normal human to do given the amount of time he does it and how often he does it. He/It got me with Light of Sanction, which prompted me to go to RQ&A to try and find if it was even possible to do combat damage to a creature I control (in light that Mark of Asylum exists).

I play standard, EDH, Legacy, casual, multiplayer, and Limited. I still think this card is bad. It isn't a card I'd use in Limited unless I was already going UG. P1P1, I'd pass this. If P3P1 I'm already in color and theme, fine. But this card requires being built around but doesn't had the flavor to draw me in, or the guarantee of payoff that would make me bother with t anyway. I'm glad to hear that some people like it, because I thought it would be like the Sphinx of the Chimes of the set- boring to everyone ever.

seems playable in limited for sure.
with Geralf's Messenger and a sac outlet on board, this thing basically reads ": Target opponent loses 2 life, put a 1/1 token into play under your control."

then with Blood Artist out, that's 4 life since you can just eat the token

Decklist, right here. This card is just fine! ALso with Undying.
I think this card is horrible, tbh.

Not seeing it. As others have mentioned, this is baller with undying, and there's the obvious evolve applications (Both the Remove counter/add counter loop and the "1G: Target creature thragtusks it up"), which already is like three possible decklists at least. Plus there's stuff like ooze tribal (it also keeps Primordial Ooze under wraps) or some sort of Modular Warstorm Surge shenanigans.

Nowadays it's all DERPSWING! with thier blue jeans and their MP3 players and their EM EM OH AR PEE JEES and their "Dewmocracy" and their children's card games and their Jersey Shores and their Tattooed Tenaged Vampire Hunters from Beverly Hills
Seriously, that was amazing. I laughed my *ss off. Made my day, and I just woke up.

Perhaps, but who doesn't like to blaspheme every now and again? Especially when Mr. RPJesus is completely right.

So that even the decks that don't run it run it to deal with it? Isn't that like the definition of format warping?

The most common answer is that they are what RPJesus would call "[Debutantes avert your eyes]ing."

...Am I the only one that thinks this is reaching the point of downright Kafkaesque insanity?
I condone the use of the word Kafkaesque. However, I'm presentely ambivalent. I mean, that can't be serious, right? We're April 1st, right? They didn't mod RPJesus for off-topic discussion when the WHOLE THREAD IS OFF-TOPIC, right? Right.

HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THE BEAR PRODUCING WORDS OF WILDING?! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!

Blue players get all the overpowerered cards like JTMS. I think it's time that wizards gave something to people who remember what magic is really about: creatures.
Initially yes, Wizards was married to blue. However, about a decade ago they had a nasty divorce, and a few years after that they began courting the attention of Green. Then in Worldwake they had a nasty affair with their ex, but as of Innistrad, things seem to have gotten back on track, and Wizards has even proposed.
You are my favorite. Yes you. And moments like this make it so. Thank you RPJesus for just being you.
