Returning to Magic after 16 years, $450 budget, what deck?

I have a roughly $450 budget. I got back into magic for a short amount of time cople years ago but used MTGO, and played a Madness, Psychotaug, and reanimator deck online. I'd like to get back into paper magic and enter FNM tourneys.

Ideally, I'd like a deck that would be competitive in standard right away.  I'd also like to be able to build 2 decks. I know I could build a RDW deck for about $75 (No thundermaws obviously). But willing to go with just 1 deck and use the whole budget if it will stay competitve till at least summer.

I like creatures, and love combos.  I guess I'm leaning towards a BR aggro decks but I'm still completely lost as to what direction to go. I still don't fully understand a lot of deck mechanics yet, even watching streams and videos of them. I'm a fast learner, but still don't know the main point of Bant Control or Jund Midrange yet. So that's why I figured a strong aggro deck focused on just beating someone up fast would suit someone like me returning to the game. Will standard change a lot with gatecrash and should I just wait till release to build a deck?

Any help from the community would be appreciated!!!

There's a standard forum subpart, you'll get more answers there and welcome back, half that money should go in dual lands.
I love trolls Dont hate me because I'm blunt and you cannot handle it
I'd recommend OMNIDOOR THRAGFIRE: www.channelfireball.com/articles/channel... (he cut the Worldfire, so technically the name isn't correct anymore ;))

it's basically a control-ramp deck that tries to win very spectacularly with Omniscience
it's quite expensive since it plays lots of flashy expensive cards, but it is a blast

I'd start with buying dual lands. I mean, shocks! Woo!

Rotation is set Real Soon Now (well, a month away), I might hold on the non-dual purchases until we even know what the shape of the meta will be or at least until we have some hints.

the rotation is in October, and the Shocklands don't rotate out until October 2014

Arg, mispoke. Not rotation out, rotation in. Gatecrash is gonna change things, y0. Or, rather, I hope so.

sure
but the shocklands will only ever increase in value

they are the second best duallands of all time, the best in Modern, so they are a good investment where you can easily recoup the money if you ever quit

Should probably just build a cheap good deck at first.  Then get to learn not only the cards and decks in the format, but what kind of stuff they are running at your local FNM.  Then go from there to decide on a more expensive deck.

That is a good deck, but

Pop-Up Window

Creature--Pest

When Pop-Up Window dies, put a token that is a copy of Pop-Up Window on the battlefield. 0/1

So funny, i watched videos of Omnidoor Thragfire 2 days ago and it looked so much fun!  I'm actually leaning towards that as well!

and I dont know what the Pop-up window post was about haha bit confused.

I'm actually returning my Wii U i bought last month to buy these cards...so trying to do all my research and make a good decision on a deck that will net me a good return, both in fun and in wins.

Some sites still open things in a new window.

Something with Tarmogoyfs

Some sites still open things in a new window.

I've literally never seen that, at least not for random pop-ups. They're all stopped pretty well by ad blockers...
That's the problem. The ones that open in a new window are also blocked on my ad blocker.

Since I don't look at pornography or anything like that, I can disable the adblocker and it isn't a problem, but still...
