Burn decks are never "solid choices". They thrive on an unprepared metagame, where decks feel it is not a thing so they build sideboards without considering it, which is exactly the time when a burn deck is good. But only for that tournament, as after that it is gonna be hated out.
I love the flavor on this card. You're opponent resolves Thragtusk, puts its trigger on the stack and is like "gain 5 li-" and then WHAM! You crack them over the skull with an effing hammer and you're like "NO! Stop that nonsense", and then they're life total dropped 3 points in the process. Clearly this is a Melvin card, not a Vorthos one. I'm glad R&D had the foresight to hose thragtusk. I just wish it hadn't been in the color that already has Falkenrath Aristocrat and Thundermaw Hellkite.
