In addition to the CoP's I'd really love to see some color hate back in magic.

"The fuel on which science runs is ignorance. Science is like a hungry furnace that must be fed logs from the forests of ignorance that surround us. In the process, the clearing we call knowledge expands, but the more it expands, the longer its perimeter and the more ignorance comes into view." -Matt Ridley, Genome

Woah woah woah!

JUst hold it right there people.  Are you talking about Magic in the Magic Flavor forums?  I think we're going to have to just nip this in the bud before things get out of hand.  Quick, someone talk about how Artemesia Geneleski's (sp?) art compares to Manet before this snowballs and we start talking about Ravnican guilds or something...

In all seriousness, though, the CoP's were before my time, so I can't really get a frame of reference for how perfect in form they were.  I don't know why, but I always just loved the name on Story Circle.  I think it was because it sounded like something that was so...not Magic Duel.  That contrast to the rest of the game was a really strong draw.

Story circle was decent because it was sort of a rebel rain dance, but the focused circles were always better :/

Personally, I think the Rakdos are a perfect match for the Dada-ists and the surrealist movement in general.

I love MtG angels, Serra, Garruk and Thor Odinson. I like to draw and fandomize about the artistic aspects of MtG and Fighting Games (to the disdain of the gameplay player types).

Funny story: InQuest Magazine (I think it was InQuest) had an oversized Chaos Orb which I totally rooked someone into allowing into a (non-sanctioned) game. I had a proxy card that was a Mountain with "Chaos Orb" written on it. When I played it, my opponent cried foul: Him: "WTF? a Proxy? no-one said anything about Proxies. Do you even own an actual Chaos Orb?" Me: "Yes, but I thought it would be better to use a Proxy." Him: "No way. If you're going to put a Chaos Orb in your deck you have to use your actual Chaos Orb." Me: "*Sigh*. Okay." I pulled out this huge Chaos Orb and placed it on the table. He tried to cry foul again but everyone else said he insisted I use my actual Chaos Orb and that was my actual Chaos Orb. I used it, flipped it and wiped most of his board. Unsurprisingly, that only worked once and only because everyone present thought it was hilarious.

Hi guys! So, I'm a sort of returning player to Magic. I say sort of because as a child I had two main TCG's I liked. Yu-Gi-Oh, and Pokemon. Some of my friends branched off in to Magic, and I bought two pre-made decks just to kind of fit in. Like I said, Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon were what I really knew how to play. I have a extensive knowledge of deck building in those two TCG's. However, as far as Magic is concerned, I only ever used those two pre made decks. I know how the game is played, and I know general things, but now I want to get in the game for real. I want to begin playing it as a regular. My question is, are all cards ever released from the time of the inception of this game until present day fair game in a deck? Or are there special rules? Are some cards forbidden or restricted? Thanks guys, and I will gladly accept ANY help lol.
I have the same problem with women.

That's what RPJesus tends to do. That's why I don't think he's a real person, but some Magic Card Archive Server sort of machine, that is programmed to react to other posters' comments with obscure cards that do in fact exist, but somehow missed by even the most experienced Magic players. And then come up with strange combos with said cards. All of that is impossible for a normal human to do given the amount of time he does it and how often he does it. He/It got me with Light of Sanction, which prompted me to go to RQ&A to try and find if it was even possible to do combat damage to a creature I control (in light that Mark of Asylum exists).

To be fair, their calendar did reach the end of what was at least a major cycle of unique years, effectivley marking the 21st as an age transition.

The idea of that being the end of the world, though?  Silly, from the get go.

Oh Beast, if you ever wanted my attention all you had to do is ask

Suppose I didn't introduce myself.

Jivanmukta, resident pseudo-intellecual and Vorthos/Spike.

And if we're claiming abstractions as our own I claim Perception as that is what defines the world if I may be so solipsistic.

In the process, the clearing we call knowledge expands, but the more it expands, the longer its perimeter and the more ignorance comes into view." -Matt Ridley, Genome

You may be.

@Thoctar- So since you've lost your previous domain, we need to get you another one. You didn't seem to feel too strongly about the sea in the first place, so... what fits best? Technically Barinellos has the heavens, but he never actually picked the sky, if that's your thing. Or you could pick a nonphysical attribute like a bunch of other people have.

I claim the domain of male pattern baldness.
All of those with insufficient amounts of hair are enthralled unto me.

Figures you'd pick an OP domain.

I'm going to have to formally protest as HairlessThoctar will rapidly become more powerful than all of us combined, resulting in a universal revolt in an attempt to overthrow the Bald Conquerer.

I'd make a bobobo-bobo-bobo reference but....nah.

Jedi! Dude! Where've you been? We had a #&$% MEMORIAL to you in the last thread! We miss you! I miss you! M:EM misses you!

Oh, uh, Hi. I'm Sam KeeperofManyNames. I like art and media theory and stuff. I have a blog about media and the Liberal Arts that's in my signature and I'm the guy that first pitched the idea for the Magic: Expanded Multiverse project. I try not to be too pretentious and obnoxious but I don't always succeed I guess? I love helping people creatively and I plan on being a professor of Media Theory eventually.

I claim Creativity as my domain! If we're still claiming Domains, that is. My Classpect might be Muse of Space then, I guess, but it's probably actually something like... Page of Paper.

not going to turn this into a dark thread. I was going through some personal stuff and was (still am) busy with trying to find a job post graduation. I will be swinging by M:EM and slowly looking over stuff. I won't be as active as I used to be (at least not planning to, but I may not be strong enough), but I want to get back in.

Thoctar, is your control atemporal? Like, if someone is fated to be among the Bald are they under your auspice for all eternity?

I'm going to take this non-opportunity to gush about Samurai Champloo. I just watched the first episode and I am 100%, flat-out bought and sold. Instantly. This very very rarely happens to me; I'm usually a picky bastard. It's just so funny and dynamic and interesting. Everything from the art direction to the fight scenes to the characters is absolutely awesome. I'll keep watching, but this might have the potential to beat out FLCL for my favorite anime series.
