Double strike and trample

If you've got a creature like Pelakka Wurm has Grappling Hook attached to it, which is attacking and the creature that blocks it is a 6/6 that dies. What will happen with the trample damage or other damage besides the 6 dealt to the creature?

In the second combat damage step, if there is no blocker then all of the damage goes to the player or planeswalker the Wurm is attacking.

Great! Thanks for the help!
The active player (the attacker) will choose to deal either 6 or 7 damage to the non-active player (the defender) during the first strike damage step.  If 6 damage is assigned to the creature, then 1 damage will go through to the non-active player.  If 7 damage is assigned to the creature, then 0 damage will go through to the non-active player.  Either way, the defending creature will die.  Then in the regular damage step, no more creatures are blocking the Wurm, so 7 more damage will be dealt to the non-active player.

Fixed.

Yikes.  Huge oversight on my part.  Thanks.
