First two DotP 50% off on Xbox

I just checked the weekly specials and saw that the original DotP and DotP '12 are both on sale for 400MS points each. Since I only discovered this game with the release of DotP '13, I decided to pick both of these up! New cards, w00t!
I've actually tried going back to both of those games a couple times after '13 came out, just for old times sake but nobody was playing online so it was pretty pointless. =/ Maybe the sales will bring some people online, might have to check them out again.
Even at half price, I can't bring myself to play the first DotP when I know I'll be forced into running some of the janky cards in the core decks, and 80+ card decks to include the unlocks in the decks.

Sometimes backwards is more fun than you'd think. I downloaded the trials for both MegaMan 9 and 10 last night... Nostalgia overload!!! Time Reversal CAN be fun... in a non-DotP kinda way. ;)

Megaman 9 and 10 are great. The platforming of the original Megaman games is some of the best 2-d platforming I've ever seen. I also enjoy the graphics and music of the 8-bit Megaman era. Then again, there's a reason I call myself megamaster.

I do like Nostalgia, but only good nostalgia, and I do occassionally go back and play DotP 2012 for archenemy mode and some of the decks that I really enjoyed (Ghoulkeeper, Grave Whispers, Illusions, Ancient Depths, Treefolk, Dark Heavens) but looking back, 2012 seems to have more decks that I don't enjoy playing and never really did (Dragon's Roar, Machinations, Trinity, Beknighted, Vampires, Weilding Steel, Unquenchable Fire, Strength of Stone).

I am a product of the 8-bit era, so to discover those games last night was a real treat!! I remember being able to cruise through entire games without taking a bullet, and now I can't dodge the first one. Gamers these days don't know what 'hard' means. Try re-starting an entire game after you lose your lives. Save files, what???

EDIT: Lives, what???
Haha...tell me about it. I used to be able to beat some of those old 8-bit games with my eyes closed. Now I get so mad I try to smash the controller 5 minutes in. Luckily (or unluckily, if you're my wall) those things are built to last, unlike the crappy, thin plastic pieces of junk they make these days.
also a child of the 80s that just won't grow up.
