Lite pack.

Either the rig or the Dreg Mangler
Tolkein was a jerk. Seriously, what DM sends 9 Wraith Lords at a Lvl 2 party of Halflings. The only 'correct' way to play D&D is by whatever method is making the group you have at that session, have the most fun.
Rig! We can build that deck!

I found Carmen Sandiego before you were born unless you're Zlehtnoba.

Mangler.
I hate dogs.

I'm pretty sure we've already had this pack. As before most people opted for the Mangler, while I opt for the Rig because it leaves the colors open for the following picks.
Yeah, the Rig is tempting, but Mangler is really good.
I'd say rig for what silent said and for the fact that I can see rig being used both in a control deck and in an aggro deck. Board wipe please, sure thing sir, if not it is atleast not blocked by a creature and swings in for damage.

Aggro, well trample is good just don't put too much on the board while he is there and the extra 4 damage on death will speed up the game, on both sides but hey screw it, go reckless go rakdos lol.
Dreg Mangler; regen is nice.

mangler despite hating golgari with passion.
I'd say we mingle with the Mangler though Rig and Armor are pretty sweet too (as is Cackler).
Preparing for the M14 Prerelease - New article up! IN THE TANK - my very own blog for rambling about Magic!
I would go with Dreg Mangler.  I hate "flip a coin" things but the Rig isn't bad.  Still prefer the Mangler by a longshot though.
The mangler is the safer pick as I don't like things I can't control so that's my pick
If you have trouble evaluating the Volatile Rig, it might help to think about it this way. If it were a 4/4 trampler that was forced to attack every turn and had none of the flip abilities it would still be played in every deck, and would be more valuable than the Mangler as a first pick because it is a colorless card vs a card that locks you into two colors. If it were a 4/4 artifact with trample that was forced to attack ever turn and always blew up with damage and always did 4 damage to every creature and every player on the way out it would still be playable in every deck as a Wrath of God style board sweeper.

The Rig as printed is going to be something between those two, but both extreme forms of the Rig are going to be better as first picks than the Mangler (due to the lack of color commitment) so the Rig as printed will be so as well.
Volatile Rig - keeping our color options open is a strong benefit on pick 1.
D&D rules were never meant to exist without the presence of a DM. RAW is a lie.
I'm the outside guy. I like the Mangler but I would probably pick the Cackler here. I have had a lot of success online playing Rakdos.

This is the same argument that people try to make claiming cards like Browbeat are good. Sure, either option could be really bomby, but when you don't have control over what happens, you tend to forget about the third option: the fact that either of the awesome options are really bad when that's not what you want.

Mangler here. Low variance decks get there.
Mangler.
Etherial Armour (take everyone you can get)

other than that Dreg Mangle

He does not have regen...

Yes, it's quite a bit like Browbeat in an RDW deck. Either your opponent takes 5 damage or you draw three cards from a deck where every card is dedicated to damaging your opponent. While it appears that the opponent has control over the situation, both options ultimately lead them down the same path.

Letting them draw three might give you 1 turn of breathing space though, which could just be enough to win

The difference between Rig and Browbeat, though, is the decision maker.  With browbeat, you know your opponent chooses, so it will always be the less desirable of the two.  With Volatile Rig, it is a genuine 50/50 chance of the better option.
In the worst case scenario, it's a lightning elemental (this will happen 25% of the time).  An equal percentage of the time, it will be a lightning elemental with an on-death Mizzium Mortars overload, which is almost always desirable.  The remaining 50% it will keep attacking as a 4/4 for at least 1 more turn, probably taking a chump-blocker with it each time.
Browbeat had a 100% chance of being the worse of two good options, Rig has a 25% chance of being a poor, but playable, option, and a high probability of being a very good card.  If you don't like playing odds, then it will be unsatisfying.  However, it you can remove yourself emotionally from the game, you will net substantially more than you lose with it.
And considering the alternative is a good card in what is generally considered the worse guild, I'm not sure you cansay the opportunity cost is really an issue here.

I have yet to see a Golgari deck work without Stab Wound. So, Stab Wound.
stab's a p1p1 for me so a p1p2 is awesome

Me too.

Stab Wound.
Obviously the pick here is stab wound... but what did the person take out of this pack first? A foil rare maybe.. there aren't very many cards I would take at common/uncommon over it
Guildmage possibly.
