Indestructable vs. Wrath of God

What happens to an indestructable creature like Darksteel Myr, when Wrath of God is played?
He gets lonely.

But seriously, he can't be destroyed, so he isn't.
Thanks dude!
Indestructible isnt a special Magic word: the game just uses the normal English meaning of "cannot be destroyed". That means that anything that tries to destroy something that is indestructible will fail to do so.

Only 3 things actually destroy permanents in Magic:
- damage marked on a creature equal to or greater than it's toughness
- damage from a source with Deathtouch
- things that say they "destroy" that permanent

There are still plenty of ways to remove an indestructible permanent, however, including:
- reducing a creature's toughness to 0/reducing a planeswalker's loyalty to 0
- exiling, returning to hand, sending to it's owner's library
- sacrifice, the Legend rule, the Planeswalker uniqueness rule
- taking control of it yourself
Basically anything that doesnt "destroy" it.

Hope that helps

That makes no sense to me. If they spelled the ability out on the card in full then it would not be allowed in a mono-black Commander deck, but because they used a keyword to save space it is allowed? ~ Tim
Yup, just like you can have Birds of paradise in a mono green deck but not Noble Hierarch. YAY COLOR IDENTITY

I love this description. Like the cows are sponges filled with milk. I can see it all Nick Parks claymation-style with the cow's eyes bugging out momentarily as a giant farmer squeezes it like a squeaky dog toy, and milk shoots out of it.

if one Knight Exemplar was out, he'd save the other knights from Wrath though he'd die

She.

;)

Note that a single Knight Exemplar wont save your White Knights from a Slagstorm. This is because the damage will remain marked on the Knights even though they arent destroyed because of it, and then once the Exemplar dies the Knights stop being indestructible and the game notices the damage still marked on them. Day of Judgment on the other had uses a "one shot" destruction effect: it destroys what it can, then doesnt try again afterwards.
