This thread is for discussion of this week's Sealed Deck Builder, which goes live Thursday morning on magicthegathering.com.

This Deck was built in 0:03:27

Total Deck Size: 40
18 Lands
---------------
3 Mountain
7 Plains
8 Swamp

9 Creatures
---------------
1 Attended Knight
1 Bloodhunter Bat
1 Crimson Muckwader
1 Disciple of Bolas
1 Duty-Bound Dead
1 Liliana's Shade
1 Odric, Master Tactician
1 Serra Angel
1 Walking Corpse

13 Other Spells
---------------
1 Captain's Call
1 Crippling Blight
1 Divine Favor
1 Essence Drain
1 Glorious Charge
1 Murder
2 Pacifism
1 Ring of Thune
1 Rise from the Grave
2 Searing Spear
1 Trumpet Blast

So I built this to maximize on Odrics synergies. The Trumpet Blast and Glorious Charge both pump my (probably Unblockable) guys, and the Red also opens me up to both Spears for removal. The Rise from the Grave helps get back an Odric if he hits the 'yard, and the Ring grows him.

1 Mark of Mutiny
1 Prey Upon
1 Reverberate
2 Searing Spear
2 Titanic Growth

Green seemed obvious; after that I was less sure. Possibly should have splashed a third color, but I went with red/green to get red's Searing Spear and Reverberate .

Primadox reaction is very nice in this pool. I went GW, picking the obvious white cards (Odric, Serra,) and then brought in Captain's Call and Fungal Sprouting because of Odric. Glorious Charge is also nice in this context. Titanic Growth into Fungal is very nice. Rancor is a bonus.
Standard Pauper! (play it on MTGO)

2 Prey Upon, 2 Pacifism, Odric... This deck just doesn't let the opponent have defenders:

With all the Elvish Visionaries, green and white just love each other here.  Make dudes, drop Rancor on your 1/1's, swing, whatever.  I liked the black, but its removal didn't seem better than double pacifism, and its creatures seemed worse than what white was offering (Odric, Attendent Knight, Serra Angel).  I didn't see myself playing the exalted strategy, so I cut the Squire and second Spiked Baloth.  I kept my creature count high to maximize Odric, but there's still room to move around in the sideboard.  Fungal Sprouting and Glorious Charge (I do hate this card though) for further swarm, Second Baloth over Second Slime if their targets are weak, Kitesail when you need a Kitesail.

I generally do not like having so few creatures (less than 16) but G/R had some nice non-creature spells.  I also do not like having my 2 colors lopsided but G had so many good cards.  Though there is more G than R, I kept an even balance of lands to be sure that I can get the mana for whatever color I need.  Please reply with any opinions.

This is a tough choice to make. Since all colour except blue are good for deck.
But since white - green has a good sync with each other this time. I'll go for White Green.

It builds itself

Green is the deepest color, with visionaries and slimes combing with the primadox for good measure. There is also rancor, deadly recluse, silklash spider and two prey upon to make this an easy decision.

You don't need much from your second color other than a way to go over the top. White offers two bomby options here in Odric and Serra Angel, and when backed by two pacifism it isn't hard to pick this.

I won't bother with decklists as most people have got there already. Personally I would run both titanic growth because of prey upon, rancor and fungal sprouting, and I don't think the deck needs the top end fatties. I would definitely run all three visionaries because you are digging for bombs.

Personally I wouldn't run 17 land with 3 visionaries and an arbor elf and nothing over 5 mana to cast. Dropping a land frees up a space for the likes of kitesail, glorious charge, naturalize depending on opponent.

Nothing hyper bomby but odric always makes me smile inside. I tried to aim for mostly utility and as much ramp/card draw was available to get to odric as fast as I can.

Is anyoen else having a problem getting the builder to work this week?  No matter how many times I reload/resize, I'm getting an empty black window.

Running Chrome 22.0.1229.79 and never had a problem with it in the past.

I believe that building this pool as anything other than a G/W deck is incorrect.  Primadox with Attended Knight, 3 Elvish visionary, and double Acidic Slime?  What's not to love?  Plus double Pacifism, Serra Angel, and Odric have to make the deck G/W.  However, my searing spear splash may be too greedy.

G/w/r
--Splashed in red for the Spears and the Cruciable. Lots of token potential+Odric=Glorious Charge, imo.  Could cut the Wurm possibly.

I'm having the same issue.  Running Firefox 15.0.1.  I have also never had this problem before.  I opened the page in IE and it seems to work, but FF is my default.

From Mark Rosewater's Tumblr: the0uroboros asked: How in the same set can we have a hexproof, unsacrificable(not a word) creature AND a land that makes it uncounterable. How does this lead to interactive play? I believe I’m able to play my creature and you have to deal with it is much more interactive than you counter my creature.

MaRo: One of the classic R&D stories happened during a Scars of Mirrodin draft. Erik Lauer was sitting to my right (meaning that he passed to me in the first and third packs). At the end of the draft, Erik was upset because I was in his colors (black-green). He said, "Didn't you see the signals? I went into black-green in pack one." I replied, "Didn't you see my signals? I started drafting infect six drafts ago."

MaRo: I redesigned him while the effect was on the stack.

Here's my list (using IE).  G/W seems the way to go to me.

This was tough because I could see you going several different ways.

It was very hard to not pick red or even splash in for the double Searing Spear.

In the end I went G/W because of Odric, Master Tactician for white and triple Elvish Visionary with Roaring Primadox not to mention the spiders and double Titanic Growth.

Black was also very tempting.  Blue was the only color that didn't really impress me in someway.

Roaring Primadox has 6 legit targets with come into play effects.  This deck has 2 must deal with immediately or watch out cards with Roaring Primadox and the "you lose if he attacks" card Odric, Master Tactician.  Then you follow that up with Serra Angel who just might have Rancor and Ring of Thune making her just sick, or even near unkillable Silklash Spider.  Then you throw in 4 removal spells and 2 pumps along with Rancor who makes any creature a problem... This deck should do very nicely.

Deck was built in roughly ten minutes.

White had 2 Pacifisms, Serra Angel and Odric but no support. Blue was pretty weak. Green was strong, black has decent removal and tempo and red had 2 searing spears a muckwader and boar. Primadox has elvish visionary, acidic slime, disciple of bolas and bloodhunter bat as efficient creatures for his upkeep effect. This is probably the most consistent deck to build from this sealed pool.

The black was a little tempting, but this seemed fairly obvious to me:

went green white because of haveing 2 pacifism and 2 prey upon, while still having big creatures and odric to manage the field. On paper it looks like the deck can out do any other on in a head to head creature slug fest, and has plenty of combat tricks to keep the opponents guessing. having 4 forms of removal in a 40 card deck also helps keep things in my favor. 3 elvish visionsaries speed up the early game, and some tougher mid-late game creatures like seera angel and duskdale wurm can hit hard.

The word of the day is "greedy." >_>

I was given a disproportionate number of Green cards! I almost went with mono-Green, even. Unfortunately, I didn't have quite as many creatures as I would've liked, so looking at my Ring of Thune I decided to throw in a couple of token-generating White spells as well as an Aven Squire.

Early game I'm practically a sitting duck, so I sit and wait until I start putting my fatties on board. Fatties which take up half the deck's mana base. In a Green deck that's painfully deprived of mana acceleration resources beyond a single Arbor Elf. Total Timmy deck.

I'd probably be making tweaks to it all throughout the event.

I like red a little better than white, though that's mostly play style. I'd keep some Plains in the sideboard, and if my opponent didn't have a lot of spot removal for Odric (or if Pacifism worked better than Spear against his creatures), I'd transform.
As I'm looking through I see I again missed the green cards hidden beneath the interface *facepalm*. As it is I went white/blue. I would have liked either more creatures/tokens or something else punchy.

So The elvish visionarys are there for the card draw, I have the searing spears and prey upons for removal sort of. The prey upons can be coupled with titanic growth for an interesting way to take out big threats maybe. Splashed black for disciple of bolas and blood hunter bat mainly for the life gain. I would have to try this out in real life to see if it works. And acidic slime cause its a very versitile card.
