This will be the LAST draft I post until the M13/Zendikar Block Drafts are done.
EDIT : Whats up community, thanks for the feedback! M13/Zendikar Drafts will not be replaced by Scars of Mirrodin block, but instead an Innistrad Block Draft and another RtR.

===Pack 1 | Pick 1===
Blood Crypt
Savage Surge
Selesnya Keyrune
Civic Saber
Explosive Impact
Druid's Deliverance
Cobblebrute
Tenement Crasher
Annihilating Fire
Golgari Guildgate
Aerial Predation
Seller of Songbirds
Search Warrant
Paralyzing Grasp
Island

I'm a bit torn between some of the mana fixing (mainly the Keyrune) and Explosive Impact/Annihilating Fire.

I think the safe pick would be Annihilating Fire, at least early in the format.  It might be that the Keyrunes are great P1P1 material, but I just don't know right now.
Honestly? Probably pick up the Bllod Crypt, however, for drafitng lets say the [b]Keyrune[/c], because it does a lot of nice things for us and the removal card has bad fung shui (porbably an excellent card, but the manacost/abilites are out of balance in my internal designer head).

Moriok Rigger is not a Rigger in print. Only in Errata WHAT NOW! (yes, I did put that phrase in for that exact reason)
Congratulations, they have activated your trap card!
Keyrune
The real answer is I'd grab the rare land and go B/R because I think that land is trading for a far amount of value, enough to cover your entry fee.

I think the safe answer is to take the Explosive Impact, it's high end but still gets the job done.

I Missed the Annihilating Fire the first time, switch me to that.  The double red is a slight turn off but the cheaper effect is worth it over the Impact
Tolkein was a jerk. Seriously, what DM sends 9 Wraith Lords at a Lvl 2 party of Halflings. The only 'correct' way to play D&D is by whatever method is making the group you have at that session, have the most fun.
I really like Paralyzing Grasp a lot, but I am going with the Annihilating Fire.  IRL yes I would take the Crypt.
REMEMBER FLUFFY, mercilessly slain by the bastard Useless Mancer
Fluffy, the cute and cuddly baloth beatstick of marshmellowy fluffyness and lolz, om-nom-noming Keeper's wicked soul; its insane, deadly amount of cuteness rips the fabric of reality to shreds, its pink, soft, round teeth dripping with honey, every breath spreading the repugnant smell of fresh flowers, this horrifying creature of destruction devastates Keeper by spreading its deadly, all-powerful fluff over the countryside, laying waste to dragon and furry bunny alike. It comes howling out of the east, an endless rattling and gnashing of teeth, a twisted grinding pull on the very fabric of reality threatening to consume body and mind alike in an endless glimmering pink torrent. Nothing is more terrible than the sun glittering on its teeth, save perhaps the light glancing off the oily tones of the sequins that cover its hotpants. Of course, there was that child who tried to eat Fluffy, mistaking him for a giant, walking piece of cotton candy. That child... is now the almighty leader of Fluffy, controlling his every move, sending him to devour the people that cross his path. And Keeper. Because we said so. Nothing can stop Fluffy's march to victory, spreading the sweet smell of strawberries where ever it lays its mighty paw. Followed by many jolly fairies singing joyful songs about Fluffy's cuddlyness, the baloth wanders the mountains of Zendikarland on a quest to share the love with Keeper, tough love that is...
Fluffy, we'll miss you friend. We'll miss you...

It's an Ox. In a PILLARFIELD. That's like, a field of frickin' PILLARS, but to this Ox it just looks like an ordinary field of grass - because he is so BADASS.

Finally, Master Yumyums just had probably the most boring, worthless card in the entire contest. Why would you need to give creatures -1/-0 on your turn? And the win condition itself is so mindblowingly difficult it seems like it was only made simply to fit the criteria.

Keyrunes seem pretty great and might be worth the pick, but like MA pointed out, we just don't know right now. I think the safest pick is Explosive Impact.
Im leaning towards annihilating fire even though explosive impact woukd deal with the larger creatures this set seems to be packed with. The keyrune would be a good choice if we were already committed to black red but im not sure it's first pick material

Trying to guess the tempo of the format is amusing. I'd go for blood Crypt, Fixing seems good and rakdos seems like a great starting place for limited.
Keyrune. The removal here is either committing or very expensive. I think the fixing + stall-board beater will be a good pick-up.
Preparing for the M14 Prerelease - New article up! IN THE TANK - my very own blog for rambling about Magic!
I'm picking Keyrune. I think it'll be good.
Wow, this is one stacked pack. 2 lands,  a keyrune, a great green combat trick, a blue pseudo removal, and 2 burn spells.

Who am I kidding? Blood Crypt for the money. If the crypt weren't there, I would pick up the uncommon keyrune since we are less likely to see more of them later, compared to the common guildgates.

Blood Crypt: If this were an MTGO draft I would take it instantly and sell it for cash, but often with physical cards I'll be redrafting rares, and in that case this is just fixing.

Savage Surge: I actually expect this to be a house in this format.

Selesnya Keyrune: The Keyrunes look pretty strong.

Civic Saber: Bone Saw at worst, Bonesplitter at best. Definitely going to be strong in this format.

Explosive Impact: I think this card will be wrecking a lot of people in Rakdos decks.

Druid's Deliverance: Card for the populate deck.

Cobblebrute: Meh.

Tenement Crasher: Decent fatty.

Annihilating Fire: Solid removal.

Golgari Guildgate: Fixing.

Aerial Predation: Sideboard card.

Seller of Songbirds: Meh.

Search Warrant: Blah.

Paralyzing Grasp: Fine removal, but not exciting.

I think the first pickable cards are Savage Surge, Selesnya Keyrune, Civic Saber, Explosive Impact, and Annihilating Fire. Don't want to take Impact this early because its expensive, and I don't really want to start off with a Keyrune. That leaves Surge, Saber, and Fire. I'll go with the Civic Saber because it leaves us open to whatever we get passed.

i like civic saber here too really.

If there's a tie you could just let the vote go on longer. I mean, you don't even give people a day.

Anyway, this pack has no green or white unfortunately. There is an Izzet defenders deck just waiting to happen. We could take Ash Zealot on the chance that we turn into a Rakdos deck. I think I'd rather take Explosive Impact on the chance that we can splash it though, it's also great in Rakdos.

........aaaaaaaaaaaaand 0 white and green.  GOD GUYS WHY COULDN'T YOU SEE THAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN?!

I don't know if Hover Barrier is good but I will go with Explosive Impact

you are right, next time when there is a tie, I will let it go longer.
Sorry, Sleeping :S
I actually like Hover Barrier here.

If we actually happen to go down the Selesnya route this thing is going to keep pesky flyers off our backs, and Azorius also gives us Detain, which is actually kind of useful in creature combat.

Explosive Impact is also nice removal but we don't get support to the Selesnya Charm (no GR or WR guilds for now), so either one of the two picks would go wasted for what I can think right now.

I'm going to be the underdog and vote for Hover Barrier.

My lack of experience with a new set would have me taking the impact since slash and burn is harder to screw up.  Seeing as how there aren't real consequences here, we may as well try for something more intricate.

Hover Barrier

Can someone explain to me why you pick fixing that pretty much puts you into 2 colors if you wanna play it over 2 pretty good burn spells that only put you into one?

Having to dump mana every turn just to have a 3/3 with no abilities is okay and all but not better then having solid removal... are we forgetting our BREAD here people? Not to mention we could have had the ash zealot now and been in pretty good shape(not that we could have known that though)

As for the pick im going to say explosive impact her as well... its the right thing to do

To beat them down with your nonflying blue aggro deck that plays a bad win condition card to win (and if you are playing the critters, why aren't you winning with them?!)? And the win condition itself is so mindblowingly difficult it seems like it was only made simply to fit the criteria.
Derivative Radial Tangent Calculation of Pure, Absolute, Utmost, Uncontestable and Utter Doom Newton's Second Law of Equations As an additional calculation to add to ~, reveal a Mathematical Equation from your hand, with a converted mana casting cost equal to a Prime Number. (Prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11 13, 17...) ~ costs ƒ(x) = Σπ(δƒ(u)-ƒ(x)) if you're a fan of René Descartes in Facebook. ~ deals X damage to each creature your opponents control within a radius of X KM from ~, where X is the revealed Equation's converted mana cost. ~ deals Y damages to target player, where Y is the area of the Sphere (using the first 50 digits of pi as pi). ~ deals Z less damage, where Z is the distance in Lightyears from the centerpoint of the Sphere. Add up X, Y and Z and round it up to the closest number. Multiply the damage ~ would deal by m, where m is the number of multiples of that number. Calculate the first 50 Fibonaci numbers: Deal the difference between the 25-50th numbers, and the first 25 numbers. As long as the angular acceleration of an object t approaches maximum velocity relative to the cross product of a vector n and its bisector as the object passes through point Q at vector n's convergence in zero gravity, Disastrous Radial Tangent Calculation can't be countered. As long as you can do a geometric proof of anything on this card, target opponent must be doing one. Otherwise, he or she loses the game. (both games. you just lost the game.)
Could we leave the picks up for at least 24 hours so that us in other time zones can have a chance to look?

I would have gone annihlating fire for the first pick and would then be happy with the Zealot.

As it is I would take Hover Barrier and go for the defenders deck!
@Da_ghetto_gamer:  This isn't a normal set.  Being in two colors very early in this set is the same as being in one color early in most sets.  I would suspect that the vast majority of draft decks end up being a guild plus at minimum a splash, and a large number will be straight 3 color.

The people who voted for the Keyrune are remembering playing Ravnica limited, where the bounce lands were never picked later than second.  In that format, fixing was so powerful because you got to play every good card you could find.  In my first post, I picked the removal because I didn't know if the fixing would be as powerful as it was in the original Ravnica.  If it is just as good, the Keyrune would be the correct pick.

The other factor that probably led a lot of people to choose the Keyrune is the fact that red appears to be pretty weak overall.

Now that we've got a Selesnya card, red isn't an option.  Neither green nor white share a guild with red, so we aren't going to get fixing for it and don't get any synergy from a guild.  Had we taken the Annihlating Fire first, the pick would be Zealot.  Apparantly, we didn't.  So the pick is Hover Barrier.
explosive impact. I don't know why we're considering playing defenders based on one pick.

More red removal.  Lovely.

This pack is garbage any way you slice it so I guess we'll go Arrow, even though I'm honestly still very tempted to grab the red removal.  Seems a bit late since we passed 3 already though.
Nothing can stop Fluffy's march to victory, spreading the sweet smell of strawberries where ever it lays its mighty paw. definitely should have gone with the burn first pick! i know this is just for fun here on the interwebs but if you gus end up drafting this weekend  always pick the conrol first lol! as for this pick lets do the arrow
Yikes, this is not off to a great start. Arrow.
I almost wonder if we shouldn't consider Seek the Horizon.  It's fixing, and versatile enough that we could take some of this very open red removal.  I think it may be wise to remember that we are in the fixing color, so red isn't unobtainable.

The first thing that jumped out at me here is the Augur spree. Still, its not neccessarily a signal because an uncommon and rare are missing and it's only pick 3. However, there are 4 decent rakdos cards in the pack....

Honestly, I haven't seen anything so far that makes me want to be in green, white or blue. I am going to make a gamble here and cast my vote for Augur spree.
