Im making a char that can talk his or her way out of any thing im not sure what class to use and was thinking changling maby idk

Any help appreciated

Access to the glibness spell would certainly be nice. Beguiler and bard both get it as a 3rd-level spell. A cleric can get it from the commerce domain as a 4th-level spell. The recaster prestige class also gets it, since it gets all spells.

The dragon, envy, or trickery domain will add bluff to your cleric class skills. A cleric with the commerce and envy domains has a nice “I want it all, and I want it now” feel to it. You'd want one of the methods of spontaneously casting domain spells.

Tempest Stormwind actually posted a rather nice social interaction build a wile back for his weekly optimization showcase. This may be of help.

community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758...
Definitly look at changling telepath, bard or cleric all of them have spells (and diplomacy for the cleric and bard) to help you, also looks at how to maximize your diplomacy check
Telepath has Diplomacy as a class skill as well.
Lashius: Credit where it's due: That's not my build, but one of RadicalTaoist's.

While Face First is a good example, the Uncanny Trapsmith is also a damn good talker - its entire schtick (outside of its traps) is social camouflage. See my signature for both of them. Note that they're both RadicalTaoist's.

Another possibility is the most extreme diplomancer you can get, which is the Half-Elf Hippie:
1) Half-elf Bard 1 (Soothing Voice substitution level), Extra Music.
2) Marshal 1, Motivate Charisma aura. (Bonus feat: Skill Focus: Diplomacy.)
3) Warlock 1, Beguiling Influence invocation, (any feat of your choice; I like Undead Empathy or another Extra Music.)
4) Binder 1, forge pacts with Naberius.

Voila, anything you fight has to make a Will save equal to your Diplomacy check (which, assuming 15 Charisma at level 1, is now +22) or stop fighting. Anything NOT fighting you goes from Hostile to Indifferent (or from Unfriendly to Friendly, or from Indifferent to Helpful) in just one action, since you can rush a diplomacy check at no penalty and take 10 on the result. This only gets better from here, particularly if you migrate into Exemplar.

Cancer prognosis: I am now cancer-free.

Sorry Tempast, I probably should have been more specific that you posted it, not created it (as a brief side note I hope your thesis work is progressing well, and good luck on it). Also to add to Tempest_Stormwind's suggestion, a further 3 levels into half elf paragon isn't all that bad, followed by all 3 human paragon levels would give you two +2 boons to any ability score of your choice, +3 caster levels between the two paragons that you can apply to either bard or warlock two bonus feats that can be anything you qualify for, a nice selection of skills (second level of half elf paragon increases your racial bonus on diplomacy and gather information to +3 well giving you a +2 bonus on all charisma based skills) , decent hit dice (d8's for both paragon classes I believe) and proficiency with a martial weapon of your choice.

Assuming that you put all of your boons from class levels and the paragon boons into charisma, your looking at a charisma score of 21 at 10th level, so adding onto the outline Tempest laid out by 10th level you would have a diplomacy modifier of +35 that you can take 10 on anytime as long as you are bound to Naberius (13 ranks, +5 cha, +5 motivate cha, +3 racial, +3 from skill focus, +6 from Beguiling influence= 35 total modifier), and that's without any magical gear such as a cloak of charisma or a choker of eloquence.
What about changling rougue sub

Read. The. Links. We use that quite a lot. It's one of the defining points of the Uncanny Trapsmith I suggested, which is amazing at social tasks due to its prodigious skill selection.

I've got to be honest; I can't read a line like that without considering the possibility that you're drunk.

Co-Author of the Dreamfane, Euralden Eye, Fulminating Crab, Gajuisan Crawler, Gruesome LurkerIronglass Rose, Sheengrass Swarm, Spryjack, Usunag, and Warp Drifter, and author of the Magmal Horror from Force of Nature.

My most popular campaign item; for all your adventuring convenience.
Zauber's Mutable Rod: This rod has a number of useful functions that make it easier to live in the wilderness. It is made of polished wood, with five studlike buttons on one end. Each button produces a different effect when pressed. Unless otherwise noted, the rod’s functions have no limit on the number of times they can be employed. When button 1 is pressed, one end of the rod produces a small flame, equivalent to a candle. When button 2 is pressed, the rod unfolds into a two-person tent, complete with bedrolls and warm blankets. When button 3 is pressed, the rod becomes a one-handed hammer, suitable for pounding pitons into a wall. When button 4 is pressed, the rod becomes a sturdy iron spade. When button 5 is pressed, the rod becomes a wooden bucket able to hold 2 gallons of liquid. Once per day, it can be commanded to fill with fresh water. If the rod is seriously damaged or broken in any of its alternate forms (button 2, 3, 4, or 5), it reverts to its basic rod form and cannot be activated for 24 hours. Moderate conjuration; CL 9th; Craft Rod, minor creation; Price 375 gp; Weight 2 lb.

You did once, although it was Sionnis who was drunk (due to an earlier event in the evening). It devolved into in-character out-of-continuity slapstick.

And coincidentally, that one included:
The Radical Taoist: Dang. It's gonna have to be me running a game if we're to keep playing.

The Radical Taoist: Screw it. It's my turn to run a game. Lemme see if I can't make something come together in a few months.

Yep. The genesis for Dead for Nothing was in that very log.

And in terms of altered-state gaming, you've seen me when my metabolic medication (a result of the cancer, discussed briefly in my sig) wears off - it was hard keeping Hadyn going when I could barely move my fingers. And I won't lie, a couple of Dayvid's fourth-wall-breaking pop-culture references came from me being on a sugar high.
(Dayvid was my CN gnome shadowcraft mage. I think it's safe to say he was a mad genius, though accounts differ on the balance of power between those two adjectives. There actually was a "secret decoder ring" of sorts that let you decipher his motives, but no one ever figured out what it was.)

From what I can gather, Warrior got hit with a natural 20 when he did not want to get hit with a natural 20 and this character of his is toast.

Cancer prognosis: I am now cancer-free.

You did once, although it was Sionnis who was drunk (due to an earlier event in the evening). It devolved into in-character out-of-continuity slapstick.

Technically, that was Sionnis under the influence, and we didn't try to make the session happen seriously. I have always been stone sober, though I'm not sure ORPG would be a good medium for a game buzzed. Maybe IRL.
(Dayvid was my CN gnome shadowcraft mage. I think it's safe to say he was a mad genius, though accounts differ on the balance of power between those two adjectives. There actually was a "secret decoder ring" of sorts that let you decipher his motives, but no one ever figured out what it was.)

I remain skeptical as to the existence of this "decoder ring", but I don't think you knew all of Dayvid's motives, and I wouldn't be surprised if Dayvid didn't either. Tricksy little gnome.

Ouch. That's too bad. Oh well, crit happens.
I have never played D&D under the influence and I'm kinda wondering how such a session would turn out.

I mentioned in another thread one of my games where we ended up with a quasi-deity of bagpipes in the party, taking over Hell, and remaking Dragonlance in our image (which apparently involved breeding plaid kobolds, incidentally)?  That is what happens when you have a DM heavily under the influence (not me) and a player mildly buzzed.
No it got vetoed by dm
Any reason given?
Yes because in the epic level hand book it says you can turn people from hostile to unfriendly with a dc 20 i can get that at first level
Anyone without a Charisma penalty can turn people from hostile to unfriendly with a good roll.  (Assuming your DM uses the table straight out of the PHB.  I've never actually played in a game like that.)  The trick is whether you can do it with a -10 penalty (cut down the time) and get some of the better results, like changing hostiles into friendlies.
Ya a char that can onlybdo thta is a bit cheesy
You're DM is overlooking a lot of the finer restrictions when it comes to diplomacy. For one, it's language dependent, meaning that it only effects people that understand you. Secondly as the DM he has final say over how effective the use of diplomacy is in any given situation, which is the safe guard the game has for the skill being broken by players. If for example you where to take this character and have him try and talk a group of Orc barbarians out of attacking a trade caravan he could impose a penalty to the check since he was a half elf, and he could even reason that the check is imposable because you started talking well they where raging. As for his worry of the epics level handbook, it's up to him as the DM whether or not he includes the rules for fantasists. All in all, him shooting down this character concept is about as fare as saying you couldn't play a wizard/sorcerer/ bard/beguiler because they can get access to charm and domination spells.

the only key difference is that due to your advanced focus into diplomacy with the build we threw at you is that you would have very little combat effectiveness aside from possibly talking the enemy out of fighting, and I already covered how that could turn out with some creative DM insight (baring the half elf bard substitution level power anyway). I would suggest asking your DM to reconsider his ruling as it's a little unfair, I mean I can think of at least 4 or 5 different ways to wind up being a good diplomat at lower levels, the method makes little difference when it's up to him to determine the end result of an attempt at diplomatic action.
ok we talked about it and he is ok with the char but a cleric is more uslful to the party as it stands ive got another post already about one
