Epic Experiment seemed like a perfect fit for storm.  It really packs a powerful punch with the ability to win on turn 2, possibly even turn 1 if you get a particularly awesome set of draws.  I have no idea what makes sense in the sideboard, though, so that's certainly an open area of discussion.

Rite of Flame is banned.

I don't think you need the Spirit Guide.  I would much rather have some protection (Dispel, Spell Pierce, Remand) over it any ways.

I would probably go down to 3 Grapeshots and 2-3 Epics.  You have a lot of dig spells (add Gitaxian Probe maybe?), so finding them shouldn't be the issue.  That would leave some slots for Lightning Bolt to kill nasty surprises like Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and Ethersworn Canonist.

Sideboard strategies are pretty varied.  Some decks like this run the typical anti-hate (Echoing Truth, more burn, more counters) while others run transformative boards (swaps into U/R Delver, U/R Splinter Twin).  It really depends on what you think the metagame is going to be like
This deck suddenly feels way worse without Rite of Flame.  I totally forgot that was on the banned list.  Bolt seems like a decent idea.  The only reason I didn't have any countermagic in the main was to maximize Epic Experiment, but maybe that's less correct than I thought.

Replace them with pyretic rituals.  And i would play the full pull of 4 epic experiments as chaining them together with all the rituals and past in flames seems very doable (and hilarious).

If you hit Epic Experiment with Epic Experiment, the second one literally reads "The Storm count this turn is increased by 1".

You can't "chain" Epic Experiment.  The card reads "cast them without paying their mana cost"  That means if you hit another Epic off an Epic, X is zero.  Every Epic you hit is the same as a land..

Not quite. You can cast it just to increase Storm count.

Also, theoretically, if you hit a ton of mana and a Past in Flames, you could recast them from the yard (maybe that's what Fuzzy meant).

I'd say it's pretty useless.  If that extra Epic were any other spell, it would be more beneficial.
with the heavy accel. ignite memories might work too. I wouldn't be surprised if epic experiment hits $25-$30

I did mean chaining them via past in flames.
Now that I think of it the abuse this card will show will get it the ban hammer pretty darn quick and I would be shocked if it didn't. Anyways, has anybody thought about quicken? Or would that do more harm than help the deck? I figure it could be like Solidarity 2.0 or something and it would be better to go off on your opponent's turn after they tap out, just my 2 cents.

The building blocks of storm are the probes and the manamorphose since they are the "free storm" cantrips. I also think that you might need an alternative win condition(if they discard/extract the grapeshots). Probably 1 of empty the warrens or something along those lines. I've seen the latest legacy storm playing it with goblin bushwacker and empty the warrens. Other options include Ignite Memories
yeah i was thinking ignite memories & empty the warrens would be 2 good picks, maybe even twincast since you'll be playing it for free it would be a good fit for storm or more mana ramping, there aren't too many picks for storm in modern though which is kinda sad because it's one of the better mechanics of the game in my opinion but meh.

Edit: have any of you thought about call to mind or is it not needed? 
I'm trying it with 4 lotus bloom just like my old TEPS and it is amazing :D
