Cube Winchester Draft

I wanna try a Winchester draft on. I'll use a fairly typical cube (600 cards, unpowered, no DFCs).

Show
Each player opens 3 booster packs, and shuffles all the cards in our respective packs together without looking at them. This done, each player will have a stack of 42 cards.
Each player deals two cards face up, each round, a player drafts one of the four piles, adding all the cards in that pile to his or her card pool.
After the player whose turn it is drafts, each player deals one more card onto each of the two piles in front of him or her.
Then the next player drafts a pile, and so on until all 84 cards have been drafted.

You all who post here will decide for Player 1. I'll decide for Player 2. Deal?

First, I will let you decide who goes first.

EDIT: For this thread, the cards are 'drawn' randomly from the full card list as I post the piles, so that I don't know in advance what's coming next. As I remove them from the list, no card will show up twice, like a real Cube.

Seconded,
Don't these drafts generally work better with 3 or 4 players?
I'm in.

Pile 1
Molten Rain

Pile 2
Thran Dynamo

Pile 3
Coiling Oracle

Pile 4
Incinerate

Winchester is always for two player. I've seen two versions, the one I described was seen in this wizards.com article.

[<o>]
I really like Oracle, but Incinerate pls.
I agree with Incinerate. Also, the version described on that Wizards page is very different from the Winchester I'm used to.
Okay let's go Incinerate.
Incinerate.  This sounds like fun.

Is it possible you're thinking of Winston draft?
Incinerate.

Those who fear the darkness have never seen what the light can do.

I've seen angels fall from blinding heights. But you yourself are nothing so divine. Just next in line.

This is a cross between Winston (for more than two people) and Rochester. I'm gonna try this next time I bring out my cube. Also, incinerate.
Grow old or die trying.

Incinerate is a clear winner here.

The next cards are put on the piles:

PILE 1
Molten Rain
Sarcomancy

PILE 2
Thran Dynamo
Lightning Mauler

PILE 3
Coiling Oracle
Viridian Shaman

PILE 4
Consuming Vapors

I think I'm going green this time; I pick the second pile.

One more cards for each pile, and it's your turn again:

PILE 1
Molten Rain
Sarcomancy
Mana Leak

PILE 2
Thran Dynamo
Lightning Mauler
Wrath of God

PILE 3
Keldon Marauders

PILE 4
Consuming Vapors
Slayers' Stronghold

Coiling Oracle
Viridian Shaman

Pile 2 looks good to me with the Wrath and Mauler.

Yeah, pile 2. It's not like dynamo is bad either.
Pile one allows us to go control with Mana Leak or aggro with Molten Rain,

Pile two allows us to go control with Wrath of God or aggro with Lightning Mauler (plus prevents the control player from getting Wrath).

Pile three has Keldon Marauders which is delicious in aggro.

Pile four has Consuming Vapors which is a very strong control card, and Slayers' Stronghold which is a very strong aggro card.

Pile one is weak in comparison to everything else.
Pile three doesn't net us as many cards and narrows are options more.
Pile two and four are simply amazing. I think I prefer pile two because the aggresive card is a creature, and you need creatures in an aggresive deck.
[<o>]
Oh man, I want vapours, but 3 solid bodies are a bit much for me to pass up.

Pile 3, but I want to be convinced on 4.
These two player drafts almost always end in 3-4 colour decks so artifacts and good mana fixing are the best. I think Pile 2 is the choice here.
And the solid bodies in pile 3 are either hugely colour dependant or narrow.
Grow old or die trying.
Pile 2.

I agree with Pile 2 here.

It's got to be pile 3.  I hate how color intense some fo the cards are, but, frankly, the other piles aren't that much better there.

I agree with Pile 3.  The Forge is a real bonus.
The value pile is the best we've got.  Pile 3

I think our deck is looking good for the fast aggro beats.  We are cleary red but could either go with black or white both of which can suit an aggro strategy.

Personally, I think our deck is winning at the moment Tongue Out

I'm in love with chimeric Mass, and The other two aren't bad.

Pile 1 for me.

I am happy to switch to a strategy and there are three good cards for us in this pack.

I think Pack 3 just for the bolt and the elecrolyze.  The thicket is fixing if we go white and Priest is for when we go really deep into white off the forge.
I'll go pack 3, but adding a fourth color (or dropping white) right now might be ugly, even with the Coliseum
