[4E, Maptool] A Taste of Blood - New Forgotten Realms Campaign

Greetings, all. My DM instincts have been stirring lately, and I'd like to start a new online Realms campaign using Maptool (a free to use virtual tabletop, for those who don't know). Some familiarity with the Forgotten Realms (the world of Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, etc) is preferred.

4E ruleset taking place in the post-Spellplague Realms of 1479. I am houseruling a few features: tieflings will be the traditional variety (that is, mostly humanoid but with some fiendish features). Dragonborn and Tymanther will exist, but the campaign will largely ignore them if I can help it; I accept the addition of Dragonborn, but I don't particularly like them. The campaign will begin in the Moonsea region, but where it goes on will depend on the party's choices.

Game time will vary, as my work hours are variable. This was the case with my last Maptool campaign, however, and doodle.com made aligning schedules easy. Most likely, count on games in the afternoon or evening hours EST.

I know this character is a child but I love roleplaying and character development. Whatever penalties and limitations you impose on her I will of course accept but I would like to play her as is. I prefer playing at level 1. I am available on weekend nights Friday to Sunday although I can do weeknights as well.

Description: Maria is small for her age, being lean and lanky and standing a few inches short of four feet. She has long, wavy, reddish brown hair and hazel eyes. The girl is fairskinned with a touch of sallowness. Her attire consists of a light blue shirt, brown pants and a hooded green cloak which partially conceals a backpack.

Personality: Maria is a kindhearted, loving child with a stubborn streak. She is sweet and innocent on the outside but very courageous and formidable on the inside. The girl is very outspoken and can have a biting, sarcastic sense of humor. Tends to be soft spoken.

Background

The Fezirs were a generation of red wizards who unlike their fellow Thayan wizards, did not share the lust for power and conquest. In fact they were derided in Thay for their kindness to other species and slaves. The large, close knitted family was also very powerful though and because they were generally well liked by the native merchants as well as being powerful wizards, they were not easily bullied by the other red wizards and zulkirs. Besides, they were known for their aptitudes in alchemy, scroll and potion making, and construction of magical devices. This family was notorious for breeding skilled craftsmen and women, so they were tolerated by Szass Tamm who needed their skilled family members to help with the enclaves.

But by 1374 they had had enough. Thay was becoming too nightmarish for their tastes. With all the civil wars erupting and the increasing undead, the older Fezirs had decided that it was time to move on to more safer pastures. So they packed up their entire family and left Thay for good. Szass Tamm would not have it though. But the Fezirs put together were more than a match for Tamm and his minions. Still a magical war broke out between Szass Tamm and the Fezirs. Szass Tamm won, barely, but there was one survivor, the youngest named Shamar Fezir who had eventually escaped reluctantly from Thay before the final battle at the behest of his grandfather.

Shamar eventually went westward. He became an adventuring wizard and earned his living through magic and research. Eventually he met another woman from Thay, a former escaped slave whom was a wizard in training. He took her in and helped her finish her training. But it became more than a relationship between master and apprentice, the two fell in love and eventually married. They settled down in the Dragon Coast setting up a potions shop in Westgate. Soon the Fezir family was growing in numbers once more and for 100 years the Fezirs had become a pillar of the community.

For 3 generations the Fezir family earned the trust of the city and were much beloved for their kindness and charitable actions. It no longer mattered where the family originated and the the Fezirs held no ill will to anyone anyways. For that matter, though unsuccessfully, the Fezirs rallied many of the more honest merchants in Westgate to form a union just as powerful as the Fire Knives, Night Masks and other not so honest organizations in order to make Westgate more civilized. They held their own and became a thorn on the Night Mask's side, constantly keeping the organization in check. While they could not totally eradicate the corruption, they did stem it and made life easier for the more honest working people of Westgate. Shamar's grandson Lido had once found himself taking on Orbach and might have won had it not been the fact that Lido was mortally wounded himself and he had to barely escape Orbach's minions who came to the vampire's rescue. The result of the legendary battle between the Fezir organization and the Night Masks led to the Night Masks being so weakened that the Fire Knives were able to eradicate them. However the notoriously feisty and risilient Fezirs were as stubborn and unbreakable as ever. The Fire Knives got rid of one enemy but gained an even more powerful one in its stead. The Fire Knives continued to be constantly foiled time and again by the Fezir family.
Maria was born a fourth generation Fezir from the mother Umara's side. Her father was Allistair Fireheart, a Waterdhavian who came to the community as a visiting scholar and fellow wizard who fell in love with Umara. The two decided to move to northwest and set up a wizarding school in Shadowdale.

Maria's childhood was happy and filled with knowledge. Even at a young age she was an avid learner, being able to read fluently when she was 3 and even write to a limited degree when she was 4. Her parents guardedly encouraged this but had no problem teaching her magic when she asked them to when she reached 5 years of age. They believed in encouraging children to pursue knowledge and learning as much as possible. It was the use of knowledge, not the knowledge itself that determined the morality of a person as well as their own actions. Since Maria was an avid book learner and a very stubborn and determined student she began mastering Cantrips and to a limited degree At Will spells fairly early by the age of 7.

At about the time Maria turned 8, tragedy struck. The Fezir family was visited by a few powerful red wizards working for Szass Tamm along with a few Fire Knives assassins. They all got into a magical battle and slaughtered each other. Apparently Tamm's wizards had somehow learned that there was a very young child who would be among the youngest wizards in Faerun history and that some Thayan Diviners believed that she might one day grow up to lead the destruction of Szass Tamm and his minions. The night before Maria's birthday, Allistair gave her her first spellbook with a new set of spells to learn. After placing Maria under the care of a family friend, Allistair and Umara travelled to Thay to get to the bottom of the prophecy about their daughter. They never returned. Apparently Szass Tamm confronted the two himself and while they fought valiantly, they were killed before Tamm could get the necessary information needed to locate Maria.

Maria was devestated by the loss of her parents and felt responsibility for it. But her parents had planned ahead. They had arranged for Maria to be put under the care of another family friend, Kale, who was a travelling merchant if anything should happen to them. That way Maria was always on the move and difficult to find. For months Maria had been on the move. Then the caravan was ambushed by Szass Tamm's minions and while they were fought off Kale was mortally wounded and died. Now Maria was an orphan and alone in the world. Rather than return to Shadowdale and risk her childhood friends' lives, she continues to travel and keep on the move, surviving on her wits and if necessary her magic. And this is where her adventures begin!
First I'd love to play I'm ok on maptools working on my ability to write macros at the moment I can do the most basic ones but not the real advanced ones.  My skype is Deranged.lark so feel free to Im me also just to be up front I already play in a game on friday nights so sorry but that not I would be unavailable but other nights would be fine as well as day times could be arranged with notice.  As of right now I can give you the basics of what I'm thinking I'm assuming all books will be useable since you didn't mention any restricts.

Taerin Doreth, Green Elf Paladin of Corellon
Taerin was raised in Nathere, a small settlement near the former location of Theamytaar. All his life his father was mistrusted by the other members of the village, although Taerin never understood why. At around the age of 14, his father began to speak of his admiration for the drow. This enraged one of the villagers so, an elf named Farrenhave, that he killed his father with an arrow, then fled the village. Taerin insisted on being a part of the party hunting for Farrenhave, but after five days of searching the rest of the party gave up and forced Taerin to return with them. For four years Taerin read all he could on the drow, although knowledge of them was scarce, He also studied his father's history, learning that his father was  part of a group of Natherens who battled a Drow scouting party 40 years  before. Not only did his father keept that from Taerin, but around that time  Arin Doreth (Taerin's father) began to withdraw from the community, and  to speak in private of his questioning of traditional elven values. He traveled to the temple of Corellon in Nathere and prayed to Corellon until he realized his destiny, to battle in the name of Corellon, to drive the dark elves into the farthest depths of the Underdark, and to bring the deauty of Corellon to those who have never seen its light. However, even as he strapped on his sword and set out from Nathere to find allies and foes in his quest, a dark pocket of doubt nagged at him. His father had changed forever after fighting the drow, would he suffer the same fate?.....

Mannerisms and Appearances
Taerin has fair skin and dark brown hair framing a thoughtful countenance. He is young for a warrior at 18, but with Corellon's might and his own physical training he is a foe to be reckoned with. He is usually somewhat quiet in social interactions, but when he does speak his words carry a quiet wisdom that seems out of place in one so young. He  has a very strict moral code, he will not murder unless the circumstances are dire, and only then if there are thousands of lives on the line. He is fiercely loyal to his companions, and tends to form close bonds to places. He believes that Corellon is the most worthy god, although he will aid allies of Corellon's and will only actively hinder minions of the evil gods, especially Lolth. Burning with a fierce hatred of the drow, he still wonders how he might change after his first battle with them.

Hey, I would love to take part in this campaign and i'm willing to create whatever role is necessary. I'm availible on sunday, monday, thursdays, and some saturdays during the day time. I have an aim and it's pantherswag@live.com that you can get ahold of me on, as well as messages here.

(I have an Eladrinn Swordmage, a Minotaur Druid (Sentinal), and a Gnome Assassin/Rogue Hybrid, if any three of those work better than the others let me know because I would love to use one of them but I have the Character Creator so I can make something else. (I also have a rough outline of a Vrylocka Blackguard Paladin but he's one crazy guy and I'mr unning him for another encounter)
Personality traits
 Rauko is a calculating assassin. Raukoi can be emotional and often acts upon emotions. being rutless but still enjoys playing with targets esspecially the more powerful ones. making sure they suffer before finally finishig them off.  She can also be quick to anger even to the point of lashing out at allys or braking her own personal code in the heat of the moment.  She follow what she feel, trust her instincts, and act on her impulses. She ttends to  life to the fullest with out regard to what the consequences may bring.  

Appearance and mannerisms
small with a slender build and pale skin being pale even by eleven standard and long silver blond hair.  She aften decorates her fair skin with temporary tribal tattoos of her own design showing off here more artist side., she also tends to express her she thru her numerious piricing she wears.  Althougth Rauko could never beconsidered honorable but she does have her own personal code chief among them is the fact she won't attack unarmed opponents althougth that doesn't stop her from handing them back there weapon then beheading them.  She also will not harm or kill children when if they attack first she will flee or leave them for her companions to deal with.  Also althougth with powerful foes she will play with seeking to humiliate with foes that are clearly weaker then she is she quickly kills feeling they are undeserving of much of her attention.  Normally thougth Rauko normally acts with her own self intreast in mind

Grigri is a half orc who's life was never supposed to be. His mother was a human who had wagered on the outcome of an arena match, a wager that she inevitably had lost. The gold that she was supposed to offer up after losing was nonexistant and instead, the orc who she had made the arrangement with decided to get his money in a more...violent way. Nine months later, Grigri was born in a back alley somewhere in the city, his mother never made it through the bloody birth.



The half orc was found a day later, barely alive, by a man who ironically made his name in the Arena. The gladiator went by the name of Asharn and he was a small bit of a legend in his part of the neighborhood, something that Grigri would hear about many times as he was raised in Asharn's care. After hearing the stories so many times growing up, when Grigri turned sixteen, he entered the Arena for the first time, using the signature Kusuri-gama that Asharn had taught the boy to use. Throughout the years Grigri had battled in many fights to the death, whether it was against other gladiators or beasts the boy bathed in the shine of glory each time.



Now though, Grigri has fallen back to the use of simple blades as he decided that the Arena was boring him. The now twenty year old half orc has decided that adventuring is the only logical step, seeing as his only true skill is the slaying of others.



Personality:



Grigri doesn't know happiness unless there is something laying dead at his feet. The boy's mind has followed the orcish side of his blood to love the sight and feeling of battle. There has never been a moment in Grigri's life that has made him happier than watching a freshly slain corpse fall below his feet. He is one of the most eager people to rush into battle, whether its smart or not, the boy has almost no sense of tactics and care in the world. When he's not exploring somewhere or anywhere that a fight is possible, the boy is eager, his body fidgeting and shaking as he looks to cause trouble somewhere.



Appearance and Mannuerisms:



Gri's skin is a pale grey, his hair a thick mop of black. The man refuses to be anywhere unless he's wearing a set of battle ready clothes with a sword strapped to his waist and his daggers on his calves. When walking it's easy to see a small twitch in his hands, as if he's nervous at all points, but this twitch completely disappears as soon as he enters the battlefield. A smile rarely graces his face outside of the battlefield, joy no longer seems to come to him. The half orc is quick to anger and even faster to enter into a battle.

Well if Drkissinger doesn't want to DM I could step in as i have DM 3.5 and played in 4th edition campaigns know how to use map tools and write basic macros so if anyone would like to help in the macro area it's very welcome.  I als have access to the character builder and the insider, which means nice pdf's of your character sheets.  
I also tend to be a little more RP heavy in my GMing meaning I welcoming thinking outside the box as long as it's within character, I would be able to GM sunday afternoon or during the week in the evening.  Also make any class you want but remeber if you choose to play some of the stranger races "shardminds for example" expect rp situations to arise.  


onlie2005 I like the idea for your character and here's how I would rule your character is small instead of medium that's it, once your character reachs  teenage years say 13 and up or you grow over 4'2 you'd turn medium size
 
 anyways my skype is deranged.lark leave me an im if you'd like me to take over for now untill we hear from Drkissinger and I could more then likely have an adventuar ready by this weekend maybe sooner.
