I decided to build off of a precon for once, and this is what I have so far:

[Current Version]
Lands:
1x Hallowed Fountain
3x Glacial Fortress
2x Azorius Chancery
7x Island
8x Plains
___
21 total

Enchantments:
2x Robe of Mirrors
4x Spirit Mantle
2x Daybreak Coronet
2x Auramancer's Guise
___
10 total

Spells:
4x Negate
4x Devouring Light
___
8 total

Creatures:
4x Lantern Kami
3x Niblis of the Urn
4x Tallowisp
2x Sky Spirit
4x Drogskol Captain
2x Wall of Denial
2x Geist of Saint Traft
___
21 total - 60 overall

I was thinking of switching Stormbound Geist and Talon Trooper for 2 more Drogskol Captain, also possibly Platinum Angel for Bruna, Light of Alabaster. Changing those angels also lets me switch Spirit Loop for Lifelink.

I want to throw in Yosei, the Morning Star if I'm able to somehow also. I am trying to find spirit replacements for Esper Stormblade and Bant Sureblade as well if anyone knows of anything decent.

I do not have a high budget for this deck, and I run it as casual.
Esper Stormblade and Bant Sureblade can be replaced with two Tallowisps I'm thinking. Does anyone have any input on the other changes I listed as well? I really want to fit in Yosei if I'm able to.
Maybe add a few Ribbons of the Reikai?
I wouldn't make the switch with Spirit Loop for Spirit LinkSpirit Loop is way better. If your creatures dies the spirit loop comes back to your hand while spirit link would go to your graveyard if your creature dies.

You might find good results at a budget price in Mausoleum Guard and Favorable Winds.

The former gives you a four drop, the latter gives deck coverage if you remove non-flyers.
I wouldn't make the switch with Spirit Loop for Spirit LinkSpirit Loop is way better. If your creatures dies the spirit loop comes back to your hand while spirit link would go to your graveyard if your creature dies.

Yeah, I agree. I've decided to keep it in. Although Spirit Link is better than Lifelink... >.>

Two copies of Mausoleum Guard actually came with the pre-construced deck, but I wasnt a huge fan of it. It itself isn't a spirit, and ended up being replaced for Drogskol Captain.

Also, I think I like Sky Hussar more than Ribbons of the Reikai. It can be reused multiple times.

So, I've updated my deck now on the original post. I switched Stormbound Geist and Talon Trooper for 2 more Drogskol CaptainPlatinum Angel for Bruna, Light of Alabaster, also Esper Stormblade and Bant Sureblade for 2 Tallowisp like I said earlier. I also switched Geist-Honored Monk for Yosei, the Morning Star.

Now, I'm wondering if I should switch my 2 Gallows Wardens with putting back in Geist-Honored Monk and 1 more of either of Niblis of the Urn or Tallowisp. That's about it.

Oh, also, just for confirmation, if Bruna gets Shroud from Robe of Mirrors, can it still gain enchantments from attacking or blocking?
Bump.

I have played a few games with this deck now. I don't want that many of higher casting cost cards for this deck.
So, I've taken out Sky Hussar and Luminous Angel, but I'm wondering what I can switch the 2 Gallows Wardens for. Low cast spirits if possible.
I'm wondering if I should swap them with 1 more Tallowisp, then take out a land or two maybe... or I could try switching them for 2 more Niblis of the Urn, 2 Niblis of the Mist or 2 Voiceless Spirits
Oh, also, just for confirmation, if Bruna gets Shroud from Robe of Mirrors, can it still gain enchantments from attacking or blocking?

Having shroud will prevent the creature from being targeted by Aura spells, but it does not remove any Auras that are already attached to the creature or stop Auras from being moved to the creature by some other method.

Nevermind then. Found that part out.

So, I figure I will switch those 2 Gallows Wardens with another Tallowisp and Sky Spirit I think. Voiceless Spirit is just a weaker version of Sky Spirit, and Tallowisp seems to be a popular target... although more offense is better, so maybe even just 2 more Sky Spirits. I could also possibly switch Wall of Denial for Wall of Reverence, but I'm not sure. I have yet to draw it in a game anyway.

I can't seem to think of anything else to change in this deck, other than some rare lands or possibly another counter card to swap Rethink for.
I'd get rid of the 2 Sky Spirit, 2 Gallows Warden, the Aven Mimeomancer and the Deep-Sea Kraken. Celestial Crusader is a good replacement. Or three more Wall of Denial. Plumeveil is another notable creature. Swans of Bryn Argoll as well.

I generally recommend that people concentrate their bases. However, it seems the diversity here is itself rather solid. I'm not certain of some of those Aura. Don't know why you're not using Steel of the Godhead, it's almost instant win with any blue-white creature. Angelic Shield isn't an aura, but it's really good. Shield of the Righteous is another good alternative.

The Tallowisp is in the way. If you're trying to build a deck around it, you'll want 4 of them. You could easily part with the Spectral Rider. You don't need something offensive like that with your theme. You need a strong defensive. Once you've built up a strongly enchanted creature, you'll have an offense four times as great without sacrificing your defenses along the way.

What do you think of these suggestions? I recognize those one-of creatures might have some sentimental value to the deck. I used to make decks like that myself, because I'd want to utilize creatures that I felt were interesting and had potential but I'd never used before. If so, you can disregard any suggestions to remove them. Just let me know which ones have sentimental value, if any.

I'm not sure why you're suggesting to take out the Sky Spirits, they're freaking awesome in here.
Aven Mimeomancer is fun, because it can change my small fries into 3/1 fliers, or change an opponent's fatty to that.
I fully agree though, those Gallows Wardens have to go. Possibly the Deep-Sea Kraken as well. I just thought he was fun in there.

I like Celestial Crusader, especially since every creature in this deck is at least half white, except for the Kraken. That could be the replacement for Gallows Warden. Although it says ALL white creatures, not just ones I control.

Steel of the Godhead seems cool, but I'm pretty content with Spirit Mantle. It not only makes my creature unblockable, it also makes them untargetable against my opponent's creatures if I don't have Drogskol Captain out yet.

I'd like to know why you think Tallowisp is in the way in this deck. I have no draw power other than him, so I think it's really helpful.

Also, I mentioned in my previous post that I have Wall of Reverence that I can fit into this deck... seeing as it is a spirit as well. That could possibly replace the Kraken, but I know that having the Kraken suspended makes my opponent cast spells at a slower rate.

The Spectral Riders I was also considering switching out, but I'd want some other cheap somewhat offensive spirit like that instead. This is supposed to be a mostly offensive deck afterall.

So, I'm willing to take out Gallows Wardens, Spectral Riders and Deep-Sea Kraken. I'd just want cards that could fill their slots similarly.

Thanks again for the help!
Sky Spirit is pretty much a multicolor variant of Thunder Spirit who was also very useful back in the old days. Consistency should be kept as concentrated as possible because when you've got a sparse amount of a certain design, a design that's important to the concept, getting that design in your hand and out onto the battlefield is a high priority. I personally enjoy decks with many two-of's myself. I love the diversity there, but the advice I'm giving it based on it be as efficient as possible.

What I meant was, there isn't a significant amount of Tallowisp. It appears to be one of the centerpieces to the deck concept. You're going to want four of them as a top priority above most every other creature. All I'm saying is that it's disrupting the flow of the cards, which is strongest when you've got a concentrated base of any given design.

Celestial Crusader is really just a design I threw in based on appeal. It does cool things, it looks cool, it looks powerful, but it's still rather expensive. The elevated cost can spike up the mana curve and cause problems. I'd go with Plumeveil over it any day. And I'd go with Wall of Denial over Wall of Reverence. The two extra defense plus shroud is unbeatable. You can gain life from unblockable life-gainers. That's why I recommended Steel of the Godhead. I've recently compared the two myself for a deck of my own. The extra +1/+1 and lifelink is seriously significant. Not to mention, Swans of Bryn Argoll pairs up with it perfectly! And that's a better creature choice than most all of them offensively.

I personally like Lantern Kami a lot more than Doomed Traveler, I would use Kami over Traveler despite the power loss for flavor appeal. You should go with four of one or the other to keep it consistent. Since Traveler only creates a token, you'll never be able to get it back with Angel of Flight Alabaster. Another good reason to go with Lantern Kami. And also, a good idea to increase the number of those angels because that's a useful and powerful effect with Tallowisp.

It's going to be hard to narrow this down, but you'll want to keep it to sixty cards at most.

I'll see what I can come up with and let you know later.

Yes, I know plenty about consistency... lol.
I just haven't made any further changes since I want to be sure what I'm doing before I go out and get some more singles of cards. Also, remember that I started this deck from a precon. Haha

Anyway, I said a few posts ago that I was thinking I should add another Tallowisp. I myself wasn't sure if I should add one or two though.

The reason I brought up Wall of Reverence was because he is a spirit, and can gain +1/+1 and hexproof from Drogskol Captain... not to mention his own ability. I wasn't saying it as a replacement for Wall of Denial, I was saying it could be another wall instead of two copies of Wall of Denial.

Although Steel of the Godhead is an awesome card (I really did think about putting it in), there are a few reasons why I like Spirit Mantle more: 1. It makes my creature untargetable against my opponent's creatures as well as making it unblockable. 2. It doesn't have to be blue to be unblockable. 3. The casting cost is lower (I know it is only by 1, but when you have only 4 mana available with 2 of it used on Spirit Mantle and a Negate/Essence Scatter in your hand...). 4. I have other enchantments that can give my creature Lifelink, because having more than one enchantment on a creature is perfectly fine... Auramancer's Guise. That + Spirit Mantle + Daybreak Coronet = +10/+10, lifelink, first strike, protection from creatures and vigilance. Just throw Robe of Mirrors on (if Drogskol Captain isnt out yet), and they get +2/+2 more and Shroud. That's a nasty creature that can only be dealt with by making me sacrifice creatures or wiping the board of all creatures, which I can recover fairly quickly from.

Now, I've given this a lot of thought as well. Even though Doomed Traveler is two creatures in a sense, it's just better to have the 1/1 flier out instead. And yes, it isnt a spirit either. I agree, I will be swapping those for two more Lantern Kami.

Rethink has been problematic for me lately. I've noticed when I want to cast it that they seem to have the extra mana available, so I've swapped them for Essence Scatter.

Other than the changes on those counter-type spells, I plan on switching the 2 Doomed Travelers out for 2 more Lantern Kami, the 2 Spectral Riders for 1 more Tallowisp and 1 more Sky Spirit... and the 2 Gallows Wardens for 1 more Deep-Sea Kraken and 1 more Wall of Denial I'm thinking.

I'll edit the deck on the first page to show what I'm planning to make it look like. Then you can give me more criticism. Lol

Thanks again for your input!
Bump.
I've been working on something like this for a short while now myself, here is what I've come to for a deck:

3 Steel of the Godhead
4 Celestial Mantle
3 Auramancer's Guise

4 Echoing Truth
4 Rune Snag
2 Foresee

8 Island
8 Plains
4 Glacial Fortress
4 Terramorphic Expanse

4 Sovereigns of Lost Alara
4 Sky Spirit
4 Drogskol Captain
2 Bruna, Light of Alabaster
2 Wall of Denial

(sorry I don't remember how to deck autocard)
I'm running celestial mantle, though now seeing your daybreak, I may switch it up.
I've played a handful of games now with this one, usually it ends up with me getting to 5-8 life before the lifelink +5 attacker comes out, and doubles the life, the game ends pretty shortly after that.
One thing I've noticed, is that having alot of different auras in the deck doesn't work (atleast for me). It takes too long to get them all out on your creatures, and then they get wrath of goded or something.
I've taken out Yosei, since I have yet to draw him in a game. I also took out a Plains, and switched the 2 Essence Scatter for 2 more Negate. I'm still thinking about putting in Steel of the Godhead, but I would only really be able to use it on just half of my creatures in my deck so they're able to get both bonuses from it.
I have played a few more games with this deck now, and I've removed the 2 Volrath's Curse and swapped them for a 3rd Devouring Light. This deck seems to start a little slower since my past few changes, but it seems more solid.

I've decided against Steel of the Godhead. Having more cards with higher mana costs will slow this deck down too much.
Alright, I've made another edit now since the last time I've posted.
I was able to get a hold of a Geist of Saint Traft, so I've switched out my 2 Krakens for it.

This deck is definitely doing a lot better now.
mtgdeckbuilder.net/Decks/ViewDeck/85826

this is my spirit deck, though I'm focusing more on a standard environment. It works pretty consistantly. Dunno if you can get any ideas from it.

IMAGE(http://stat.rumandmonkey.com/tests/1/6/5261/20795.jpg)

Hmm... Glacial Fortress is cheaper now. I'll take out Adarkar Wastes for 2 copies of it.

I also think I'll take out the 2 Spirit Loops for 1 more Spirit Mantle, Angel of Flight Alabaster for a 4th Tallowisp, and Aven Mimeomancer for a 4th Devouring Light. It lowers the mana curve, so I can take out a Plains too.

It seems to look better on paper now. That Mimeomancer has saved me a few times, but I think I like these changes.
So... I was able to acquire a second Geist of Saint Traft a while back, and have been playing with it in the deck in place of where I had Bruna... and it is much better (faster too) I'd have to say.

It is doing VERY well now, but I find sometimes that Wall of Denial isn't as helpful as it should be. I've been thinking about switching it out for Oblivion Ring, but then I feel like I might be too low on my creature count.
Hi there,

haven't read the whole thread, but might have some points:

- you can't tutor Daybreak Coronet with Tallowisp ("Enchant creature with another Aura attached to it" doesn't equal "Enchant creature"), not sure if you knew

- you really should have some, at least 1, disabling aura. Prison Term is good here, since you can swap it on more recent threats. a Control Magic variant may also be a good idea

- Tallowisp loves(!) shoals, Shining Shoal is good, being arcane and as such giving you an enchantmentto replace the card you exiled to cast it for free makes it borderline insane. (if you can fit in some hybrid colored auras (like Gift of Orzhova) Sickening Shoal becomes quality² removal.)

Edit:

Evershrike and Angelic Destiny are two more cards to consider, though the shrike only really shine if you can somehow get him into the graveyard.
I run sigil of sleep and mark of eviction in my tallowisp deck (as well as azorius herald and latch seeker)
