Mine Field Trap

I'm trying to design a minefield trap that would go along with an encounter, and just wondering about the XP awarded. Should it be XP for the trap as a whole (Ie 100 for lvl 1 trap), Xp for each mine found/detonated(Minion XP per mine)?

Thoughts? 
Is their task to disarm the mines (bomb defusal to clear a roadway or something of the like) or is it more they are just trying to move past them? If the mines are simply an obstacle rather than a goal then I'd just do it as one xp number for passing the mine.

Disarm sounds like a skill challenge (yawn).
If there is a battle taking place there, make sure your monsters have push or slide attacks.
