Almost certainly rare given those stats.

Groovy card.
No rarity mentioned. I assume rare, but I could see them pushing him to mythic.
Interesting pairing sacrifice with undying, but the card probably won't be particularly good since it still results in card disadvantage.

I hope it's uncommon, but I get the feeling that it's a rare.

It might be card advantage, but the minor sacrifice (which might help you in and of itself) is worth the low cost for the high power. "I might end up minus-1 in cards, but you'll end up dead fast and it won't matter!" is probably the thought behind this. The Undying is simply added gravy.
If I'm right, I'm right. If I'm wrong, I still believe I'm right. Think of it as religion. dubito ergo sum.
At that cost, any W/B Token Deck Digs him.
I'm glad to see undying sticking around.
Yay undying is still here!  No more Worldwake mechanic syndrome!

This is neat with smaller undying creatures.  I can see sacrificing Geralf's Messenger to it.
Why not just etb - sacrifice a creature? I see no reason as to why they needed to double the amount of text.

Cast Demonlord of Ashmouth.  Sacrifice itself.  Come back as a 6/5 flyer for 4 with no drawback.
now this is a cool card. also looks uncommon to me.

Why wouldn't the second time require you to sacrifice a creature?

True.  I guess you still would.  I guess they wouldn't want a 6/5 flyer attacking on turn 5, even if you have to sacrifice for it.
I actually think it would be a cooler design if you could have it enter with a +1/+1 counter if that meant turning off undying.

It would, but it'd still be dumb. There would be no reason not to sacrifice it to itself the first time, giving you a 6/5 flyer instead of a 5/4 flyer.

Why not? Is it that unreasonable that you have two creatures to sacrifice? That 5/4 flier kills you in four hits, just like that 6/5 does. I think it's more valuble than whatever other creatures I currently have.
Edit: Enough that I'd want my opponent to need two removal spells for it.

Erhm, can't say Rare or Mythic.

Comparing the symbol to that in the picture of Sigarda, I'd say he's definitely rare.
It will be a wonderfull card: I can see a undying deck and sacrifing undying creature to summon him, or him to himself.

the word another, still destroying dreams.

Hmmm... Big dumb design.
I thought this was a fine card until I realized that when it comes back you have to Sacrifice another Creature? why.

Mafia Game Slots:

1. Open

2. Hundred Acres (Dead Town)

3. Open

4. Open

5. Open

6. Open

because some cards love to be sac'd

5/4 or 6/5 flyer for 2BB, that's why.

It has to have a huge drawback because of the high power level of the creature. Similar to the huge drawback of the new angel, Sigarda, Host of Herons. Oh wait...
Flashback leaves but Undying stays?

What are you thinking WotC?

Snapcaster Mage is the best card of all time. How do you deal?

Looks uncommon in the picture.  If it's uncommon then very nice for limted.
Tragic Slip being everywhere ensures this card won't be seeing constructed play anytime soon.

It has Undying. And even then, Tragic Slip doesn't invalidate everything under 14/14.

Didn't see it had undying that makes it slightly better but still probably not good enough.

So wait...you have to sac a critter when he enters the battlefield and then AGAIN when he comes back from undying or he's exiled?

WOTC is pushing 25 creatures a deck down our throats.  While I like that he has a steep cost, at rare he's really not that playable.  He's probably ok in limited, but the mana cost should have been .

Seriuosly people? This is guy is very constructed playable. I can already see turn-3 Geralf's Messenger, turn-4 Demonlord becoming a very popular and powerful play. And that's only one application. Token producers, especially Lingering Souls, make this very easy to play as well. 5-power creatures for 4 mana have a history of being constructed staples, and this one flies. It will see many tabletops.
Interesting design, I'll rather not sacrifice it to itself to trigger Undying....

Typically, I agree with about everything you write on here, DA, but I think I'm going to have to disagree with you on this guy.  I do agree that 4 cc 5 mana critters typically rock the tourney scene, but Juzam was well when Magic was less known, plague sliver wasn't played in many tourneys that I played in during RAV/TSP, TSP/LOR (though I stopped playing about when Eventide came out), and Scuta is the best example here.  Problem is, Phyrexian Scuta, Plague Sliver, Juzam Djinn, and even other cards such as Serendib Efreet, Erhnam Djinn, and other "powerful" 4 cc cards or less has one huge specific difference that this guy.  They don't cost you another card.

Sure, I'll grant you tokens and such, but that dramatically changes the way the decks are built.  Current token (w/b, u/b/w, etc) uses wrath effects and plays a token after.  You can't Day of Judgment and play a fast effect (unless one of the guys you killed off has undying too) to sac to this guy's ETB clause and get him to stick around.  This is the same thing with Skaab Ruinator.  There's other cards that have to be around (and not land) to make this card function.  If he did something cool, like tap, sac a creature to destroy a creature (non demon, whatever), it might be worth it.  But he doesn't.  This is card disadvantage.  His undying only triggers if your opponent removed him in combat or with a removal spell and he has other fodder on the battlefield to eat.
Just sacrifice another undying guy?
I'll like this card a lot if it ends up being an uncommon.

While still probably not good enough for constructed, I think this is trying to do what Ravenous Demon tried to do, only it got it right this time. Undying makes the times you just put yourself behind by casting this less common, but it still sucks to have it Vapor Snagged.

I can see myself sacrificing Gravecrawler or any Undying creature
