Melody.  Cause the engine just sings.
I got the targa top off yesterday to effect minor repairs and was pleasantly surprised, the top gaskets are in excellent condition. The windshield gasket not so much but I repaired it more or less.

Went for a drive with the top off, and it's actually quieter with the top off and windows down, than if I had the top on with the windows down.

The wind in the cabin isn't even that bad either. It's present, but it's not obnoxious, and it totally changed the driving experience. I'd forgotten just how fun T Top and Targa Top cars are without the roof on.

It also changed the car's attitude quite abit in terms of appearence. I'll snag some pics when I go out next with the top off. (maybe a vid or two of the car too who knows.)

Also got a couple of Corvette parts catalogs, man the availability and affordability to do stuff with this car is amazing.

As you can see the interior is in almost new condition, like most of the car.

Be sure to protect this one from fleshlings. Of course you should still attempt to exact justice upon the fleshling that harmed Christine.

I like how it goes through all of the years

It's funny how every where I go someone has a corvette story, or asks me "hey man what year is that?"

I just replaced the gas cap on the car. When I went to put fuel in today, (and the tank was nearly empty) and put some injector and combustion chamber cleaner in, I didn't hear the Whooosh sound you should hear on an empty tank meaning the cap wasn't sealing.

So that should be good for an mpg or so, and some throttle response. I took the cap off my 1986 Z28, and switched them over (since the Z28 isn't road worthy right now)

Also found out without a doubt my car has anti lock brakes front and rear as the "ABS Operational" light turned on when I first started the car at work today. It was on just long enough for me to read it. 1989 and ABS... didn't think anything had ABS brakes till 91.

Two things. First I've put in my performance speakers in the vette today. Holy crap the stereo sounds so much better than it did before. I still need to replace my fronts. Which I'll do shortly.

I have a muffler that's starting to go out... fortunately I've got some money saved up already, so I can get a magnaflow stainless system to replace it, the other muffler and the pipes up to the catalytic converters.

Secondly
I have a dilemma of the first world variety.

When I decide to trick out my wheels I want to  accent them with with the car's color. Problem is, I'm not a huge fan of the color on the vette, and it's paint is slightly showing it's age. So this means a car repaint and recolor down the road.

Don't know what color to paint the vette. Red is the obvious choice (as I'm a sucker for Red... ) but, I don't feel Red really brings out the best traits of the C4 corvette body style. There's an outside chance that in a few years I will have a C6 corvette... and those look best in yellow, so I don't want to get the car painted yellow. (two yellow corvettes at once? Tacky much?)

Black... I hate black as a car color. It's too hard to keep clean, and it would hide the subtle curves of the C4.
Green... I hate green. All greens except for Lime Green on Challengers (old or new), or 2002 Camaro SSs.  And green corvettes are no exception.

Bright Silver maybe?
A sunset Orange possibly?
White? (either Bright White, White Metallic, or Arctic White)
Blue? (metallic, electric blue, impulse blue... bahama blue?)
Blarg.

I vote for Arctic White with deep blue accents or metallic/electric blue with silver accents.  I guess silver with blue accents would also be acceptable, but blue w/silver seems better.  What color is the interior again?  And do you plan to change it to match the paint job?

You could pick up Extra Rage feats for stamina, feats to support AoO effects, feats that work towards potential prestige classes, and so on. However, you could also shift our ability scores around somewhat. I mean, if you're getting results like that with 16 starting Strength, maybe you can lower it to 14, and free up four points to spend somewhere else - perhaps back into Charisma, giving you some oomph for Intimidating Rage or Imperious Command if you want. You can continue to tune this until it deals "enough" damage - and that "enough" does not need to be "100%". It could easily be, say, 80% (leaving the rest to the team), if your DM is the sort who would ban one-hit killers.

The interior is a light grey (on the leather and the cloth alike) with a black dash, and black accent pieces.  I do plan on getting the seats reskinned as one of them has a small tear. (the reskinning will be about 700 dollars from what I've seen if I go with the same high quality leather I have now)

Just bought a new stereo receiver, and some new front speakers as the 4X6s I had for my Z28 wouldn't work. (well they might but I haven't taken my dash cover off.. I do however have kick panel speakers which need upgrading first)

Should have better reception, more powa, and Omg I'll be able to actually program the stations on this one vs the one I had. (the other one is also an aftermarket unit.. but it has no remote that I've found... and I can't easily program stations)

Wait that song was 1999? really?

Believe me when I saw the first C4 back when I was car shopping that song immediately came to mind as the first one was Torch Red. *shivvers*

No; the album was titled 1999.  IIRC it came out in the late '80s/early '90s.

Whatever color you decide to go with, you know you have to have otters airbrushed onto it somewhere. At the least, you should have one on the hood.

Well, I installed the new front speakers, and I bought a new stereo/receiver.  Fortunately it all went smoothly on the install (didn't even have to splice any wires ysy!), I'm still fine tuning the settings of the stereo so it sounds it's best but it sounds much better than the old unit did.

Couple more weeks and I'm going to order the exhaust system for my car.

I'm leaning on either a Magnaflow stainless catback system or a Borla stainless system. We'll see what kind of deals I can find.

(They have the best performance, and the best sound out of any exhaust note I've sampled so far)

I already ordered the throttlebody airfoil (goes between the blades to make a smooth transition, rather than the flat surface that's there now which causes a crap ton of turbulence) 12 horse power gauranteed, for 40 dollars hell of a deal. I also got a power coupler thrown in for free. That replaces the crinkle plastic between the mass airflow sensor and throttle body. Depending on the shape of your crinkle plastic, and the extent that the engine has been modified that's good for another 10 hp on it's own. Even if it nets me only a couple, hell it was free.

For those wondering what's inside the brown tent building, it's a 1998 Camaro we're working on.

I'll snag some pics of it when we're done with it. And probably take some pics of my basketcase 86 Z28 too.

By the way with the roof off and a fairly short stretch of interstate to work with the car stretches her legs out to 120 really quickly.  I don't think I could have hit it's top speed with the top off though at about 100 the drag starts to really get noticable.  (top speed for this axle ratio and transmission is 147 I believe)

The stainless exhaust has come in for the car today. Tomorrow the Headers should be in.

T304 Stainless, so shiny that it's virtually a curved mirror. I literally could probably shave using the reflection in the pipes.

Needless to say I'm quite excited, since I'll be gaining around 40 ponies.
The car is giong to be loud enough to give old people heart attacks when I blip the throttle.

I decided to go with an OBX system vs the Borla system, for two major factors. 1 this will require less fabrication, and 2 this will actually net me more horse power due to the use of an X Pipe vs the 2 to 1 back to 2 factory style that the borla system tried to use.

It also sounds from the vids I've found like the car will be ready to tear the world to pieces when I give it throttle.

The throttle body airfoil came in last friday, and I can tell the car is abit peppier now, and getting just a hair better mpgs.

If the weather remains utterly crap like it has been I'll have to find someone to do the install for me. I want the system on the car ASAP.
